CyanView Wins Order from NEP Germany for Camera Control Solution

CyanView today announced that it had won orders from NEP – who are among the world’s foremost outside broadcast and live events production companies - in Germany for a Cy-RCP Remote Control Panel, a Cy-GWY Gateway and Cy-CI0 Camera Interfaces. They are being used for total control of NEP Germany’s Dream Chip mini-cameras, providing the opportunity for highly creative camera positioning and angles in outside broadcasts – especially sport.

The solution was supplied and will be supported by sonoVTS, CyanView's official distributor in Germany.

NEP chose the CyanView solution to support its coverage of sport – notably ice hockey and basketball – to enable it to deploy mini-cameras in any location (for example, on a basketball backboard to capture the ball passing through the hoop). The CyanView solution fulfills the vision engineer’s requirement for full camera control, including advanced colour correction.

“NEP has become a pre-eminent provider of outside broadcast, live events and remote production companies for many reasons – and among those is our constant innovation, helping our customers deliver content that is engaging and compelling and, often, unique,” said Zlatan Gavran, Managing Director of NEP Germany GmbH. “There is nothing else quite like CyanView’s solution. It allows us to continue to innovate, and will help us deliver new viewing experiences that will help make for even more compelling spectacles.”

The CyanView Cy-RCP is a universal RCP that will work with any camera. IP-based, it can control multiple cameras in a remote production environment. The CyanView Cy-GWY features the open Ember+ control protocol, and provides an interface to a VSM (Virtual Studio Manager) and the Lawo V_pro8 video processor. Its WAN capability enables remote production.

“For all of its many other advantages in terms of the flexible creativity it enables, one aspect that our customers like most is how neat the IP-based design of the CyanView solution is for broadcast production,” said David Bourgeois, founder and CEO of CyanView. “The typical production environment already has an absolute snake-pit of adapters, converters and cables that often make it very challenging to deploy the specialty camera of choice in the optimum position.”

Both Cy-RCP and Cy-GWI are part of CyanView’s Cy-Stem universal mini-camera system which the company will be demonstrating at NAB on stand C8530. Cy-Stem is highly cost-effective, and provides unique versatility and flexibility, enabling the highest degree of creativity, accuracy and quality in a wide range of applications where remote and advanced camera control for production are required such as outside/live broadcasting including sports events, reality TV and game shows.

The Cy-Stem range also includes the Cy-VP4 video processor, which supports four 3G HD (50/60) cameras or a single 4K (25/50/60) camera, together with SDI in/out and HDMI out for monitoring. The Cy-VP4 provides advanced chroma correction and performs like a powerful CCU by enabling image processing of secondary colours to any mini-camera within the production workflow.
