Friend MTS appoints Justin Paul as Chief Marketing Officer

Friend MTS, the Emmy Award winning content and revenue protection specialist, has appointed Justin Paul to the new position of Chief Marketing Officer. Paul, who has over 20 years’ experience in technology marketing, will lead the company’s marketing functions, including strategy, brand development, and marketing communications.

Based in Friend MTS’ London office, Paul’s priorities are to develop and implement a global marketing strategy to create awareness of the company’s services and to accelerate business growth. He previously worked for high-tech companies, including Amdocs and Nokia, where he specialised in bringing new capabilities to market, and driving thought leadership campaigns.

“We are absolutely delighted to have Justin on board at Friend MTS,” said Simon Williamson, Chief Commercial Officer at Friend MTS. “To attract a candidate of his proven calibre is testament to our industry leading people, services and customers, and our strong market position. We are in a period of unprecedented demand for our services, and I look forward to welcoming Justin to the commercial team to lead our marketing efforts and engage with our customers.”

“Friend MTS has an A-list client base, and it delivers enormous value to its customers and their shareholders by protecting premium content and revenues,” added Justin Paul, Chief Marketing Officer at Friend MTS. “Content theft is the scourge of the media industry. A common misconception is that content theft is a “victimless crime” but it affects us all financially. I’m thrilled to join a company that’s transforming the piracy landscape for content providers and protecting the industry from illegal streaming.”

Friend MTS works closely with many of the world’s largest media and entertainment companies to secure their content against streaming piracy. Its services protect premium sports and entertainment, including live channels, pay-per-view events, and on-demand assets.

The company’s service portfolio includes automated, global channel monitoring using fingerprint-based content recognition, and this integrates with the most widely deployed subscriber-level watermarking in the world. Friend MTS’ ASiD watermarking service is invisible, ultra-robust and fully scalable. It operates seamlessly with OTT players and multiple generations of set-top boxes, and it can connect with subscriber management systems to stop content theft in minutes.
