Digital Nirvana, a global provider of media solutions and services, will showcase its latest media management, metadata generation, subtitling, and closed captioning offerings at IBC2018 in Amsterdam, running from September 14-18 at the RAI Amsterdam. Look for Digital Nirvana in Hall 14, Stand D05.

IBC2018 marks the international debut of Version 5.2 of its flagship MonitorIQ Media Management Platform, introduced at NAB in April. The company’s innovative broadcast monitoring product enables broadcasters to effectively monitor their video and meet compliance requirements, and Version 5.2 offers more user-friendly features than ever before.

MonitorIQ Version 5.2

“Our research and development team has been continuously looking to enhance the end-user experience by adding new features since the launch of MonitorIQ in 2009,” said Digital Nirvana’s CEO Hiren Hindocha. “We are eager to bring this latest version to the international stage at IBC. We’re looking forward to showcasing a platform that is extremely stable, effective and user friendly. The focus of Version 5.2 is to improve the end-user experience and make the platform as efficient and easy to use as possible.”

Alongside its Monitor IQ media management platform, Digital Nirvana will showcase its services, including: metadata creation and caption generation and synchronization.

Metadata Generation

Also making an international debut is Digital Nirvana’s new Metadator - a software application that makes the editing process more efficient for broadcasters and content creators. With its ability to generate locators for media assets outside of AVID’s Interplay MAM system, the application makes it easy for AVID users to export media to external sources for generating transcripts or metadata that can be automatically ingested back into the AVID Interplay MAM platform.

The software automatically extracts video footage, extract audio, generate content metadata or transcripts using speech-to-text technology, then ingests the information back into AVID Interplay. It simplifies the process of metadata and transcript generation by automating it with proven technology - improving the turnaround time while reducing costs and improving overall operational efficiency.

The application automates what’s been a manual process of combing through footage and creating scene summaries. The Metadator communicates with Avid Interplay using web service APIs to access content. Users can generate locators for the media assets outside of Avid Interplay, then export media to external sources for generating transcripts and metadata. The processed data is then returned in an Avid-compatible format and attached to specific assets, so content creators can easily locate metadata when editing footage down to a singular show.

Caption Generation

The company offers high-quality cloud-based Caption Generation for all pre-recorded and online video content through an automated process over the cloud with options to create multiple formats and integrate directly to the user’s video platform. Automated speech-to-text conversion coupled with state-of-the-art workflow and experienced captioners reduces the time and cost to publish and provides better search engine discoverability. The service provides subtitling generation in all standard formats for broadcast and IP delivery of video content.

Caption Synchronization

Digital Nirvana’s cloud-based Caption Synchronization service automatically re-aligns live broadcast captions for online usage. Captions can be synchronized for an entire show, short clips, and montages. Digital Nirvana’s cloud-based caption synchronization technologies use audio fingerprinting to automate near-live synchronization of live broadcast captions. Automated speech-to-text conversion, coupled with state-of-the-art workflow and experienced captioners, reduces the time and cost to publish, provides better search engine discoverability.

“With our caption synchronization, live broadcast captions are repurposed automatically for online delivery,” explained Hindocha. “Our service provides near-live synchronization and the ability to generate the proper formatting for all potential channels.”

Media Management

The MonitorIQ platform delivers a full range of multi-channel signal monitoring, logging, loudness monitoring, compliance, competitive analysis, advertisement verification, content repurposing and archiving functions - enabling broadcasters to capture live content from multiple sources live and monitor the video for quality and compliance. MonitorIQ features a powerful content retrieval system called SmartSearch and operates in a centralized management server environment– which unites all units deployed throughout the system to one central point.

New features of MonitorIQ Version 5.2 include:

  • Search filter options with updated easy-to-use calendar controls

  • Provision to select multiple alert trigger type (e.g. Email, SNMP, Trigger URL) configurations

  • Settings to configure player options like closed captions, subtitles, teletext, NAC, LKFS and ratings
