PSSI Global Services and Telstra partner to expand worldwide connectivity

PSSI Global Services, the industry leader in live event management, transmission and connectivity solutions, has partnered with Telstra, in collaboration with R&S Consulting, to expand global media network connectivity.

Through this partnership, PSSI Global Services will utilize Telstra’s robust Global Media Network (GMN) to provide expanded connectivity throughout the world, including a critical point-of-presence at PSSI International Teleport (PIT), allowing even more transmission options for PSSI Global Services customers.

“With our customer-based approach, PSSI International Teleport is becoming a major point of connection for fiber networks across the globe,” said Bill Sciolla, vice president and general manager of PIT. “This partnership with Telstra helps position us as the leading hub for live worldwide broadcast distribution as we continue to expand our satellite, fiber and IP connectivity.”

Telstra is a leading telecommunications and technology company operating connectivity capabilities and infrastructure around the world, including fiber cable networks, data centers and cloud gateways. The Telstra team creates and curates innovative solutions for international broadcasters, rights-holders, content creators and sporting bodies across the globe through-high performance media networks, world-class satellite services, remote production teams and 24/7 bookings, with always-on operations and engineering support.

Andreas Eriksson, head of Telstra Broadcast Services, said, “Having PSSI Global Services join the Telstra Global Media Network Partner Alliance enables the delivery of high-value live sports content globally from North America into Asia Pacific, Europe and around the world through the Telstra Global Media Network. PSSI’s world-renowned event management and fleet of transmission vehicles grants Telstra further access to North American content.”

To facilitate the partnership, PSSI Global Services and Telstra established redundant high-throughput services through PIT with full access to the GMN, including support for ASI, SDI and data connectivity. The redundant solution protocol includes two diverse routes for each transmission, assuring SLA level availability.
