Universal Electronics brings Smarter Living to IBC2018

Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (NASDAQ:UEIC), a worldwide leader in universal control and sensing technologies for the smart home, will be showing its latest products and demonstrating its range of innovative, intelligent solutions designed to bridge the home entertainment and connected home ecosystems at IBC2018 (1.C41).

UEI will demonstrate new products and services for the connected home that maintain and evolve our legacy of innovation in entertainment control. As has become customary, UEI will showcase its latest Designovation product concepts that demonstrate UEI’s unique ability to blend user experience, consumer trends and innovative technology, which lies at the heart of UEI’s product strategy of consolidating home entertainment control, IoT and the smart home into one seamless user experience. Placing the end user at the center, ensuring simplicity of use, by leveraging context awareness, voice and adaptive control to discover, recognize, and interact with smart devices and sensors inside the home.

Innovation in User Experience

The UEI VOTA remote and UEI WAKE sensor will be among the product concepts demonstrated for the first time at the show. These products bridge home entertainment and smart home by combining traditional voice remote with smart speakers, as well as addressing privacy concerns relating to non-intrusive occupancy and user detection.

The UEI VOTA remote is an evolution of UEI’s award-winning voice technologies which have been widely adopted across multiple systems worldwide. Through continuous innovation to improve user experience, the UEI VOTA remote’s raise-to-talk technology senses the users’ intent and begins listening for commands. It can also support a totally hands-free control experience when placed upright or can address a user’s intention for privacy, when placed on its side.

Industry leading control technologies

UEI will also showcase a range of new products and services built around their industry-leading technologies including their UE878 dual RF SoC; Universal API framework and QuickSet® Cloud service.

QuickSet® is the world’s first automated discovery, setup and control solution. Over the past 10 years, QuickSet has pioneered universal entertainment control and is embedded in nearly half a billion devices globally,while QuickSet Cloud is now running at a run rate of two billion transactions per year making it one of the world’s most widely deployed entertainment control systems.

New operator-centric entertainment and smart home solutions

Another key demonstration of UEI’s industry leading voice platforms is highlight in their new line-up of Android TV-based remote controls. With Google becoming a real force in the broadcasting value chain, UEI has developed a broad range of advanced voice remote controls to meet the demands of this fast-evolving market.

UEI will also showcase the company’s portfolio of state-of-the art, universally compatible, intelligent sensing solutions to address common home intrusion, monitoring and smart thermostat control challenges through specific use cases addressing end user convenience, security and safety.
