Canon KJ20x8.2B IRSD

The Canon KJ20x8.2B Portable 20x HD Lens with 2x Zoom Extender features a B4 mount for use with 2/3" format camcorders and offers a focal length range of 8.2-164mm. With a built-in 2x extender, you can enhance its focal length to 16.4-328mm.

Crafted with high-quality design tools including optical-simulation and 3D-design technologies, the Canon HD lens ensures minimal axial and lateral chromatic aberrations, coma aberrations, and geometric distortion. Furthermore, the lens features optical materials and multilayer optical coatings that minimize optical artifacts stimulated by strong light sources. Macro focusing ability effectively reduces the minimum object distance to only 10mm from the front of the lens.

Advanced Drive Unit technology provides a convenient control when using Canon portable HD lenses. Thanks to its ergonomic design, the drive unit touts a comfortable grip and an improved balance, which further enhances your tactile connection with the lens.

This lens also includes Canon’s Shuttle Shot technology that improves production capabilities. Employ the Shuttle Shot technology to rapidly zoom back and forth between any two positions. It can also be used to zoom to the telephoto position for checking focus and almost instantly returning to the original position, or ‘shuttle’ between any two zoom-positions at any time. You can also set specific Shuttle Shot zoom positions through a memo switch that enables reliable Shuttle Shot setup in the field where more consistent functioning of the controls is required. Additionally, you can securely grip the drive unit without inadvertently pressing on the VTR or Shuttle Shot buttons.

Canon C200: Tried and Tested
Ben Sherriff There are many reviews about this camera online and a heap of incredibly detailed comparison and behind the scenes footage that will really give you a full insight into what it can do. So first a disclaimer - this review is less detailed and based on my personal reading of what this camera means for Canon and all other camera manufacturers and us – the users of these technologies. So, what’s all the fuss about?

Looking back at IBC 2017
Duncan Payne IBC feels like a bit of a dim and damp memory now, but a few over-riding memories do remain however, not least of which was the Arri party to celebrate its 100th year. It was like an old-school manufacturers IBC/NAB party, back when manufacturers had marketing budgets, and lots of sales people. It got IBC off to a great start; thanks Arri.

Media Production Show and other news
Duncan Payne So, the 2nd Media Production Show has been and gone. Hands up who went to Islington by mistake? I know at least two people who did. Their secret is safe with me! For me, the sign of a great trade show is when I come away really enthused about an innovative use of existing technology or a brand new product. When I find something that combines both these things, then I'm a very happy man.

Canon CN-E 18-80mm T4.4 Review
Ben Sherriff The Canon Cine range of lenses have been around for quite a few years now. The CN-E Cinema Prime lenses became an early alternative to using PL adaptors or the Zeiss Compact Prime lenses. Other than that the choice was rehoused stills lenses or maybe if you were lucky a set of Zeiss super speeds. The cine lens set became a cost effective offering for sharp prime lenses with clear and accurate markings for proper functionality.

Understanding the process of video production
Joseph Adamson In this article I will focus on understanding the process of video production. The use of miniaturised video equipment and understanding the capability of the kit chosen for the job will be mentioned. The video production process is a road map, which not only helps the producer to minimise problems during production and achieve professional results, but also saves time. This process can be tricky to understand and many videographers are self taught, including myself.
