Intraware will showcase new Thunderbolt(TM) 3 editions of Sonnet's Echo(TM) Express SEL and Echo Express SE I Thunderbolt-to-PCI Express(R) (PCIe(R)) expansion systems, which are both now shipping. The compact and lightweight SEL and SE I chassis harness Thunderbolt 3 to enable data transfers up to 2,750 MB/s for both Mac(R) and Windows(R) computers, supporting a wide variety of high-performance PCIe cards. Differing only in size, the single-slot SEL and SE I systems are ideal for use in situations in which users only need to connect a single PCIe card. With the new interface, both systems enable users of computers equipped with 40Gbps Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports, such as the new MacBook Pro(R) and iMac(R), to take advantage of Thunderbolt 3's 2,750 MB/s of PCI Express bandwidth to support the most demanding, highest-performance adapter cards.

Sonnet Launches SF3 Series -- CFast 2.0 Pro Card Reader, Industrys First to Enable Ingest Via Thunderbolt 3
Sonnet Technologies today announced the launch of its new SF3(TM) Series -- CFast(TM) 2.0 Pro Card Reader, the first in a new family of professional media readers that feature a 40Gbps Thunderbolt(TM) 3 interface. The Sonnet reader employs dual card slots to take advantage of the tremendous bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 offers. Sonnet's CFast 2.0 Pro Reader, the industry's first card reader with Thunderbolt 3, can ingest files simultaneously from two cards at concurrent data transfer speeds up to 1,000 MB/s -- more than double the average ingest speed of USB 3.0 card readers.

This rugged, pocket-sized solid-state drive (SSD) storage device is capable of transferring data at speeds of over 2,100 MB/s, and is equipped with 512GB of flash storage. The Fusion(TM) flash drive is an ultra-fast alternative to portable SATA-based hard disk drives, SSD storage devices, and USB thumb drives. The new Fusion flash drive connects to any Windows(R) computer with a Thunderbolt(TM) 3 port via a user-replaceable captive 0.5-meter Thunderbolt 3 (40Gbps) cable. Measuring a compact 2.8 inches wide by 4.1 inches deep by 1.25 inches tall, the Fusion Thunderbolt 3 PCIe(R) Flash Drive features a fanless aluminum enclosure that enables silent operation. The device is bus-powered and so requires no power adapter.

Canon C200: Tried and Tested
Ben Sherriff There are many reviews about this camera online and a heap of incredibly detailed comparison and behind the scenes footage that will really give you a full insight into what it can do. So first a disclaimer - this review is less detailed and based on my personal reading of what this camera means for Canon and all other camera manufacturers and us – the users of these technologies. So, what’s all the fuss about?

Understanding the process of video production
Joseph Adamson In this article I will focus on understanding the process of video production. The use of miniaturised video equipment and understanding the capability of the kit chosen for the job will be mentioned. The video production process is a road map, which not only helps the producer to minimise problems during production and achieve professional results, but also saves time. This process can be tricky to understand and many videographers are self taught, including myself.

NAB Review
Duncan Payne As I emerge from the customary post-NAB haze and try to formulate a coherent analysis of the 2016 show, perhaps the most striking realisation is that despite pacing the halls for four long days, I barely scratched the surface. The scale of the event, much like Las Vegas itself, is simply extraordinary, with over 100,000 attendees and nearly 1900 exhibitors. Right from the first morning of the show, my social media feeds have been full of reviews of amazing products and technical advancements, many of which I just didnt get time to see.  Here, however, are some highlights of the things I did manage to get to.

Editing broadcast video in a mobile app a ridiculous notion or the next big thing
Jason Cowan A trend appears to be developing in broadcast technology development the more ridiculous an idea initially seems, the better the chances are that it will turn the whole industry on its head. Ten years ago editing over an internet connection was a pipe-dream, and the suggestion that broadcast equipment might be replaced with standard IT was considered preposterous as recently as five years ago. Yet working in the cloud, on standard IT equipment has revolutionised post-production and enabled workflows we never thought possible.
