First LED Wall Vehicle Stage Opens in NYC

www.thecarstage.com

Effective: July 26, 2021

Long Island City, New York is the site of the first-purpose built Carstage state-of-the-art LED vehicle process stage www.thecarstage.com/reel. The permanent virtual environment facility is fully equipped with expansive movable LED walls and proprietary technology allowing clients to produce live, fully composed sequences through their own cameras—with ease, on the spot.

The turnkey operation provides all the technology and service that a project requires— delivering fully composed content as it is being filmed. Available by the half-day, day, week, or more the client need only provide their vehicle(s), talent and essential crew. Carstage’s experienced team guides a production’s crew throughout pre-planning, load in, LED panel positioning, live on-set programming and color correction, all the way to final pixel.

By specializing in LED screen vehicle work and beyond, Car Stage’s new approach offers unique capabilities. With 20’ ceilings, the 10,000 square-foot stage is ready for vehicles (or combinations) from bicycles, sports cars and pickup trucks to a full-size bus, helicopter, train car or 50-foot yacht. The leading-edge technology features 3.1 and 1.5mm pixel-pitch repositionable walls, D3 media servers, Tri-Level Sync & LTC Master Clock, and multiple other resources—all driven by a crew of experienced experts.

Carstage clients have the option of coming in with their own background imagery or they can quickly access the extensive drivingplates.com library that’s right on the premises. When its time to get out of the car, the Carstage has it covered with the latest photographic and virtual solutions.

Carstage is a NY State Level 2 Qualified Production Facility (QPF) and participates in the NY Film Production Tax Credit Program. Located between the Queensboro Bridge and the Midtown tunnel at the Greenpoint/L.I.C. border, it is nearby NYC’s other great stages. The ground level facility offers easy drive-in access. Matthews and rsquo; Offers Gobo Plate and trade; XL Mounting Adapter

Due to the popularity of the Gobo Plate line of versatile mounting plates, Matthews introduces the new Gobo Plate™ XL, a beefy problem-solver offering endless robust rigging options.

Like its smartly-designed sister products, this mounting essential is made to support an array of gear, from camera rigs, set pieces, lighting and grip modifiers to building materials like lumber and pipe. Built to receive 4.5” Grip heads, the XL is the big brother of the family—designed to couple heavier duty gear found on the rigging side of production that requires versatile support options and above all, safety. It easily bolts to standard cheese plates, hood mounts and hostess trays, etc. or may be nailed or screwed to lumber, set walls and overhead beams.

Polygon Labs Clients Including Verizon Media Create Sophisticated Unreal Engine Projects Using Creative Hub Service

Polygon Labs, an innovative studio pushing the boundaries of interactive data applications and visual branding, is highlighting the success of Creative Hub, its remote, on-demand creative and professional services platform.

Since its launch in April 2020, many of Polygon Labs’ clients have used Creative Hub to produce their remote virtual studio productions, with no need for physical cameras, tracking devices or green screens. All human interaction happens remotely, bringing the presenters into the set via live video stream. This exact set up was used last month by popular Verizon Media-owned tech news publisher, Engadget for its CES 2021 virtual studio presentations. Polygon Labs worked closely with Michelle Kratchman, Creative Director/Head of Art and AR/VR Design at Verizon Media and her creative team to design a virtual studio environment that could be used as a fully remote production set to present products, interview guests and to discuss consumer trends.

HOLLYLAND LARK 150 Review
Phil Vinter

The exponential growth of video supercharged a technological revolution that began in the early noughties with the advent of DSLR cameras.
The cinematic-style shallow depth of field image video quality from DSLRs was a revelation, but, back then audio was the big drawback. As demand has grown so the technology has improved and today’s one-man-band small rig set ups can capture pretty good sound into a DSLR style camera.

Phil Vinter reviews the latest release from HOLLYLAND and it's a thumbs up from us.

ERA IaaS at University of Salford
KitPlus The University of Salford (UoS) is widely recognised in both academic and professional circles as a leading educational establishment in acoustics and media production. In 2011 the University moved its television and radio courses from its main campus just outside Salford city centre into the Orange Tower on the main piazza of MediaCityUK (MCUK).

This purpose-built hub for broadcasters, facility houses and production companies was created when redevelopment of the old Salford Quays docks area began in 2007. UoS was among the first institutions to consider moving to MCUK, along with the BBC, which had already committed to transfer many of its departments from London.
