A 12x PL mount cine lens, starting at 25mm and reaching to 300mm, will give you the versatility to cover a wide variety of shooting situations. The PL 25-300 with its generous focal range, makes it ideal for shooting documentaries, nature and wildlife, and car commercials, as well as the closer shots that can only be made with a wider angle lens.

The PL 25-300 covers 31.5mm sensor size on a digital cinema style camera. While sensors on standard broadcast cameras are all the same size, sensors on digital cine cameras vary greatly. This new zoom ensures the image captured will cover large sensors for optimal, full-frame resolution. A nine-blade iris part of the design as well, creating the most natural-looking imagery possible.

Joining the Cabrio family, the PL 25-300 will offer all the features of the Cabrio line; Flange focal adjust, LDS and i/ Technology metadata compliant, smooth focus action, and of course, spectacular 4K performance!

Spanning the Film and ENG worlds, and supporting 4K production, the Fujinon ZK25-300mm T3.5 to T3.85 Cabrio Premier Lens is a 12x zoom for super 35mm size single sensor cameras, and it features a PL mount. The long zoom range allows you to shoot medium wide to long shots without changing lenses, and it holds its maximum T3.5 aperture from 25 to 273mm, almost the entire length of the zoom, losing less than half a stop as it reaches 300mm. This minimized iris ramping makes it easier to use a continuous zoom along the entire zoom range of the lens.

The focus ring features 280 degrees of rotation, providing for accurate focus adjustments, and the 120-degree zoom rotation is consistent with other lenses in the Cabrio line. The focus, zoom, and iris barrels are geared with standard 0.8 film pitch, which provides an interface for the optional removable ENG-style digital drive unit. The rear PL mount features electrical contacts for sharing Arri LDS and Cooke /i Technology lens data with the camera.

Dalet Strengthens Remote Creative Workflows with New Proxy Editing for Adobe Premiere Pro Posted: 21/04/2020
Dalet Strengthens Remote Creative Workflows with New Proxy Editing for Adobe Premiere Pro

Dalet, a leading provider of solutions and services for broadcasters and content professionals, has released the new version of its Dalet Xtend module, enabling remote proxy editing capabilities within Adobe® Premiere® Pro, an industry leader in video editing. Responding to feedback from Dalet customers, Dalet Xtend for Adobe Premiere Pro remote proxy editing capability now facilitates collaboration between distributed teams making it easier to work across locations and time zones.

The new capability streamlines production workflows thanks to its “hub & spoke” approach to collaborative editing. Leveraging proxy quality video, users and teams can continue editing from any location.

Dalet Xtend for Adobe Premiere Pro lets remote users edit quickly and efficiently, anytime, anywhere in low resolution, with the finished sequence automatically rendered in high resolution back at the production hub. This significant time and resource savings is especially helpful for fast-paced news workflows where journalists need to quickly edit stories on breaking news while it is happening. Additionally, a key highlight of this update is the ability for teams to edit and collaborate remotely; projects can be edited from beginning to end by users in different coasts.

Trailer Park Group, the award-winning global entertainment marketing company, which counts many of the world’s most prestigious and successful companies, brands, media properties and film franchises among its clients, is the newest customer of IPV and will be using its latest release—CuratorNow—to allow their editors and producers to continue to produce video from home. As global events force a change in the way people have to work, CuratorNow gives Trailer Park Group the functionality they need to seamlessly continue to produce secure, high-level content for their clients at full capacity from home.

IPV CEO Mark Fagan said, “As the world headed into temporary lockdown, Trailer Park Group realised that they needed a robust solution to enable their editorial team to continue to deliver new material for their clients under these unprecedented circumstances.

IPV Names Highly Experienced Broadcast Media Leader Philip McDanell as Chairman

Industry leading media asset management software provider IPV today announced the appointment of Philip McDanell as Chairman of the Board.

McDanell is a highly knowledgeable executive director with extensive experience in the media and technology sector, having held senior board positions at MTV, Chrysalis Group, and most recently Peach, formerly Group IMD, where he helped devise and execute the company’s global business strategy, growing the business value from £14m to £100m.

McDanell said, “I am excited to be joining IPV at this interesting stage of its growth. IPV’s Curator platform is without doubt one of the best products that I have seen. I am particularly pleased that IPV has just launched CuratorNow to help the broadcast industry address the present market difficulties by enabling editors to work remotely on frame accurate proxy videos.”

Available immediately and deployable in days, CuratorNow fast-tracks the ability of creatives to work from any location, including their home, with just basic Wi-Fi for project collaboration using the core tools of Curator, IPV’s proven flagship video content management platform, allowing for simple scalability and an easy upgrade path.

HOLLYLAND LARK 150 Review
Phil Vinter

The exponential growth of video supercharged a technological revolution that began in the early noughties with the advent of DSLR cameras.
The cinematic-style shallow depth of field image video quality from DSLRs was a revelation, but, back then audio was the big drawback. As demand has grown so the technology has improved and today’s one-man-band small rig set ups can capture pretty good sound into a DSLR style camera.

Phil Vinter reviews the latest release from HOLLYLAND and it's a thumbs up from us.

ERA IaaS at University of Salford
KitPlus The University of Salford (UoS) is widely recognised in both academic and professional circles as a leading educational establishment in acoustics and media production. In 2011 the University moved its television and radio courses from its main campus just outside Salford city centre into the Orange Tower on the main piazza of MediaCityUK (MCUK).

This purpose-built hub for broadcasters, facility houses and production companies was created when redevelopment of the old Salford Quays docks area began in 2007. UoS was among the first institutions to consider moving to MCUK, along with the BBC, which had already committed to transfer many of its departments from London.
