May 30 marks the 2019 kick-off for Cine Gear Expo at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

The Expo opens with the Film Competition screenings on Thursday, in Paramount’s Sherry Lansing Theatre. Winners will receive prizes like cameras, lighting, support, and accessories thanks to the generous donations of the Film Series Sponsors.

FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the launch of FUJINON MKX18-55mmT2.9 and FUJINON MKX50-135mmT2.9 cinema lenses for X Mount, new additions to the X Series line of interchangeable lenses.

Since their launch in February of 2017, the MK Series of zoom lenses from the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM have received numerous accolades from noted industry websites, publications and cinematographers thanks to the lens lightweight, professional zoom performance and price point. Among those recognizing the FUJINON MK18-55mm and MK50-135mm T2.9 zoom T2.9 zooms are: No Film School (Best New Lenses of 2017); Pro Moviemaker (Launch of the Year); Philip Bloom (Best Video/Cinema Lens); Newsshooter (Best Cinema Lens); and The Camera Store (Best New Lenses of 2017).

The Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM has appointed Tom Fletcher as Director of Sales. In his new role, Fletcher will oversee sales and promotion of broadcast and cinema lenses in North America. Working under the guidance of division Vice President Gordon Tubbs, Fletcher will lead the sales efforts of six regional managers in North America. Fletchers position is effective immediately.

As part of the companys overall initiative to increase awareness of its Cine-Style zooms among Cinematographers, Camera Operators and Camera Assistants throughout the world, the Optical Devices Division of FUJIFILM, FUJINON has embarked on a series of hands-on, educational seminars. Based on initial reviews from leading feature film and episodic cinematographers as well as rental house lens technicians at each of the regional events, this series has the potential for a long run.

Polecam Systems will show the latest Polecam rigs and new innovations and products, including the global launch of Autopod, a remotely operated programmable elevation unit for rigs, remote heads and cameras. This new production model features a new lightweight base and a custom foam flight case and other enhancements.

Polecam Systems has super stabilised the Polecam of DOP John Gillan by fitting and interfacing his new Ronin-M gimbal onto his Polecam.  The latest Red Bull Cliff Diving events were proving difficult due to the higher winds often associated with cliff tops.
Whether its a Jimmy Jib or a Polecam strong wind is always tricky for a jib but I knew that with the recent developments of gimbal technology this could be the answer.  Steffan and his team were great in getting this ready in time and the results were brilliant said John.
