Ikegami reports ongoing broadcast and professional media innovation throughout 2022 including the Unicam UHK-X750 IP-capable UHD HDR HFR camera plus the R2 Real Remote production system.

"UHD-HDR has replaced UHD-SDR as the default standard for consumer TV displays," says Michael Lätzsch, Broadcast & Professional Video Division Manager at Ikegami Electronics (Europe) GmbH. "This in turn has encouraged broadcast-focused production companies to invest in UHD-HDR camera systems. UHD-HDR content is becoming increasingly available online from dedicated streaming channels. A growing number of broadcasters are also supplementing their HD-SDR terrestrial and satellite transmissions with online UHD-SDR content."

Ikegami announces the integration of eight UHK-430 camera systems at Thai Parliament Television (TPTV), the national assembly radio and television broadcasting station of Thailand. The cameras are now in full use at the recently completed Sappaya-Sapasathan parliament house in Bangkok, allowing 4K broadcast quality coverage of legislative proceedings.

Little Bay Broadcast Services, one of New Hampshire's leading broadcast system integrators, has chosen Ikegami UHK-X700 cameras for a television studio upgrade on behalf of a major corporate client. Three cameras plus control equipment, viewfinders, lenses and teleprompters have been ordered for use in broadcast-grade content production and webcasting.

Ikegami will show the latest additions to its product range at Inter BEE 2022. Central themes of its demonstrations will be new advances in virtual and remote production developed in response to changing production styles resulting from the coronavirus pandemic. Ikegami's R2 Real Remote production system allows highly efficient remote camera operation between the studio and the sub-control room as well as ensuring social distancing and studio crowd avoidance when necessary to guard against infection, particularly in close-up sequences. It is designed for use with cameras such as the compact full broadcast quality UHD/HD Ikegami UHL-43. Support is provided by a six-axis programmable articulated robot arm mounted on a motorised pedestal. This combination allows fast and easy changes in camera height from a minimum of 400 mm to a maximum of 2,350 mm above floor level. The R2 can be relocated easily from one studio to another.

Somoy Television, a news-based 24-hour television channel broadcasting nationwide in the Bengali language, has chosen Ikegami HD cameras and monitors for use at its studio headquarters in Dhaka. The investment forms part of the network’s transition from 576i SD to 1080i HD production and transmission.

Somoy TV (literally 'Time TV') has operated successfully with Ikegami technology from the commencement of test transmissions ahead of its April 17th 2011 launch. An HL-65W SD camera became a core element of the studio’s production resources. Globecast, the global solutions provider for media and content management, announced its return to the island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean to participate in the success of the Ultra High Definition (4K) broadcasting project of the famous ultra-trail event Le Grand Raid de la Réunion 2022 with Réunion la 1ère and France Télévisions. The event took place from October 20^th-23^rd.
