Sony DVR 2000

This Sony DVR 2000 D1 machine is fully serviced and has just 543 hours from new. Its in excellent condtion and probably has the lowest hours in the world for a D1 machine !

Model DetailsThe D1 4:2:2 Component Digital Video Tape Recorder conforms to the international standard CCIR-657.Able to handle both 525/60 and 625/50 television signals, providing high quality video production in both environments.

Features:

  • Highly reliable playback system
  • Compact, lightweight and with low power consumption
  • Component digital inputs and outputs as a standard
  • To improve its operational performance, the DVR-2000 uses an automatic compensation system for playback equalization. This automatically detects and compensates for playback equalizing errors. RF gain and phase are automatically optimized in playback so that the error rate is minimized. This feature gives reliable and stable playback pictures without continuous manual optimization.
  • All the information required for operation of the DVR-2000 is provided on the large EL display (640x200 dots). Operation items are logically categorized into eight main menus. These are easily accessed by using the eight menu keys, with the menu contents displayed on the large EL panel. Set-up or selections are easily made using the 12 function keys located under the EL display.
  • The DVR-2000 has built-in LTC, ASTC (Audio Sector Time Code) and VITC time code generators and readers. ASTC is a digital time code recorded in spare data bits in the digital audio sectors of the helical tracks. Both VITC (Vertical Interval Time Code) and ASTC can be read, even at slow speeds and still frame, and can also be used for recording/playback of time code related to the source signal, either video or audio. This capability to handle three time codes greatly increases the editing efficiency of the DVR-2000.
  • The most critical aspect of a smooth tape path is maintaining correct tape tension. In the DVR-2000, tension regulation arms are provided on both the supply and take-up sides. The additional take-up tension arm not only allows smooth and precise tape tension control, but also greatly improves the response to the "Jog" dial operation. With the adoption of an improved larger diameter capstan, the DVR-2000 offers a wide range of pinch-on mode playback and the response to the job dial operation is also increased.
  • Power requirements: AC100 to 120V/220 to 240V ±10%
  • Power consumption: Max. 750 VA
  • Operating temperature: 5°C to 40°C (41°F to 104°F)
  • Recording format: CCIR Rec. 657 (SMPTE D-1/EBU Tech 3252)
  • TV standard: 525/60, 625/50 switchable
  • Tape speed: 286.588 mm/s (525/60)286.875 mm/s (625/50)
  • Writing speed (relative speed): 35.63 m/s
  • Humidity (relative humidity): 20 to 80% (non-condensing)

The brave new world of software based production
Boromy Ung In today’s rapidly evolving broadcast industry, the only constant media organizations can truly count on is change — and the need to adapt as rapidly and cost-effectively as possible. One of the biggest agents of change is the IP revolution, driving broadcasters to migrate their operations to all-software solutions running on commodity, IT-based technologies.

University and Mental Health
Rhiannon Jenkins University study and mental health has been in the media quite a bit over the last year, and I’m sure there are many people wondering what is going on? The issues are complex, and I suppose the focus of employability off the back of a degree course has raised the stress stakes for a lot of young people. I’m only qualified to talk about this from my perspective, and my story began when I joined a course not knowing I had a mental health condition.

An Epiphany Moment
Peter Savage 2 I had been negotiating the sale of my company and had reached the really hard end of the bargain. We were close to agreeing the final sum after a lot of too-much-give-and-not-enough-take negotiation. The solicitors were calling me, keen for a deal. It had come down to one sticking point and, in my hard ball “I am the Wolf of Wall Street” guise, I wasn’t going to let it go. It would make a value difference of 1.5% on the total outcome. Not much, you might think, but I had already nearly fallen out with the solicitors over their fees and I was giving my advisors an extremely hard time because the corporate adviser couldn’t see how I had already given more than an inch and the buyers were taking more than a mile. I was not going to let them win.
