A closer look at the menus and layout of the Agile LiveLink. The WMT Agile LiveLink 265 is our new wearable ruggedized transmitter that encodes video at H.265/HEVC and bonds 8 combined 3G/4G connections for high quality live streaming using Mobile Viewpoint award winning bonding technology. H.265 live video transmission offers the same quality at lower bandwidth consumption, but also saves money at data cards. It is also possible to add Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections to maximize the upload capacity. The system is small enough to fit between camera body and battery pack, or can be carried in a small backpack. Its aluminum design makes it extremely sturdy and will survive drops of more than 2 meters. All this while still offering up to 8 x 4G modems, HD-SDI, HDMI input, a LAN connection, satellite/KA-sat/BGAN support, an integrated antenna and 120GB of storage for recording video locally, ready for editing. Other benefits are the integrated antenna of the system and the roaming SIM-cards build in.

The WMT Agile LiveLink H.265 utilizes its bundling technology to become a high volume data Store & Forward unit and data bonding unit for Internet access. This means that the system uses its entire available bandwidth to transport any kind of file true its connections to a FTP server. Fixed delay; so if 2, 5 or 10 seconds delay is selected this will remain the end-to-end delay during the complete broadcast. This is what we consider fixed delay time. IFB or return audio is also available at less than a second delay.

WMT Technology

The use of multiple networks guarantees the highest bandwidth, the best possible network coverage and offers a redundant solution. The video is encoded with and H.265 hardware codec, which will automatically determine the available bandwidth and continuously transmit on the highest available bandwidth. This ensures transmission of the best possible video quality with the shortest possible fixed delay time.

A switch in time: how KVM can unlock the future of broadcasting
Chris Smeeton

One of the major changes for broadcasters during the pandemic has been the shift towards remote production; by no means a new phenomenon in an IP environment, yet accelerated under lockdown to accommodate travel and gathering restrictions. A 2021 report found that almost 40% of broadcast professionals now employ remote production, up 9% on the previous year.

Cloud integration: The only way is up
Francois Vaillant

In 2017 we saw the introduction of SMPTE 2110 and since then, the transition to IP has emerged as a priority for broadcasters looking to streamline their operations, decrease their footprint and effectively integrate with an industry in a rapid state of flux. A 2020 survey by Devoncroft found that almost 20% of broadcasters had already deployed SMPTE 2110, and over 25% were planning to do so. Then came the pandemic, precipitating the need for on-the-fly collaboration and accelerating the transition to remote, virtual and cloud production.

Meeting the specification
Chris Smeeton

A good technical specification will detail precisely what is required, from the equipment to the cables connecting it. Many specifications will give  particular manufacturers and model numbers. On many occasions, this makes tendering simple and gives vendors a secure and fair way to bid.
