Since my last article in November I have been flat out working on a large range of different projects both for the course and outside. We have recently finished our IPTV studio unit for which we decided to create a music show that would help to promote local artists. The project was very stressful at the start but once we organised all of our artists and got going it was very enjoyable and rewarding. We are now hoping to film a lot more studio sessions with a range of local musicians on a regular basis.
I was lucky enough to meet local film maker Dean Huson and have since been helping him when needed on his current documentary Whats Real The Evolution of Hip Hop A documentary that looks at the development of the genre, talks about how and why Hip Hop stared, its influence and how it can be used as medium for positive social change. Working on this project has been a great experience for me and as a hip hop fan it has been a complete pleasure to work on with amazing experiences like meeting and filming an interview with legendary Hip Hop duo Dead Prez.

At the end of last month we got the chance to attend BVE in London, something I had been wanting to do for a while but was sadly unable to attend the previous year. As the camera geek of the group I had been really looking forward to BVE as it was a chance for me to look at and get hands on with all of the equipment I had been drooling at on the internet for the past year.
We have recently been lucky enough to have a talk from Gareth Unwin producer of The Kings Speech among other films. Gareths talk was fantastic, it gave me a great insight into his life and how he got into the industry but the main thing I really enjoyed was that he individually asked us all what we wanted to do and gave us guidance on how we could go about making our next step. We were also allowed to watch a sneak peak for a programme that was about to be pitched to a large television company, it was fantastic looking at his work and being given advice from an award-winning producers work.
We have recently started work planning our final pieces. Our brief is quite loose which allows us to be creative with ideas, the only restriction is that it has to over 15minutes in length. After watching a range of videos and brainstorming a few ideas myself, Joseph and Matthew have started to plan and script a short film about deceit and abduction which we are hoping to start filming at the start of April.
