This page normally contains a “what’s inside” guide to the issue. If you’ll forgive me this time I’d like to talk about what we’ve been up to for the last month… It’s been a busy start to 2012 for the team at tv-bay. In January we teamed up with Visual Impact to plan a roadshow travelling the length of the UK taking equipment to places it had never been before! The LookListenExperience was born! Production Editor Matt Robbins, Advertising Jonathan Highett,jonathan@tv-bay. com Accounts Lucy Turner, For Glasgow, in fact Scotland, it was a first – never before had there been a showcase like this in the country. This first of the 5 venue tour complete with local BBC supported seminars packed to standing room only gave an obvious indication of the demand for an event of this type. Events Selen Sevket, Encouraged by feedback we started our decent to MediaCity where visitor numbers grew. People are networking, meeting old colleagues, getting hands on with manufacturers side by side and spending time absorbing the impartial advice on offer. From Manchester we travelled to Cardiff which saw seminar speakers from Wales largest post production co. “Gorilla” talking file based post complimented by other speakers covering all aspects of the work flow and included inspirational case studies and business advice. Layout and artwork Dan Butler, +44 (0)1635 250 968 Bristol was next, to say we filled a football stadium would be misleading, but the Ashton Gate venue was a seminar sell-out with “Cameras for 2012” once again proving to be a major attraction. Visitors wanting fresh air were welcomed outside where cameras were mounted on the pitch side. London was our final stop by which time over 1800 seminar seats had been filled during the tour. If you came then we thank you and for the questions that arose during the seminars, Peter Savage touches on one hot subject in this month’s column on page 46. So from bringing a hands on experience of equipment and technology to the regions we now travel to Las Vegas where the World’s largest broadcast show, NAB, is set to begin. In this issue you can see a follow on from our NAB preview last month as well as getting up to speed on the focus of this issue with the latest in fibre, IP and content delivery methods. There’ll be a full NAB round up next issue plus 100’s of interviews online at from the show. Simon Tillyer, Tv-bay +44 (0)1635 237237 Enjoy the issue.
