Wearable video technology used on the production of Prometheus V .I.O., a leader in wearable video technology since 2001 is proud to announce collaboration with Fox UK on the new Ridley Scott production, Prometheus. V.I.O. products are the system of choice for production companies, extreme sports athletes and military forces worldwide; the selection of the POV.HD camera by FOX UK for this particular production was an easy choice. The POV.HD’s native 2-megapixel sensor shoots crisp 1080P video and provides exceptional low-light performance; perfect for the low-light conditions on set at Pinewood studios. The exposure compensation mode was a key feature to enable capture of detail in particularly dark scenes. Fox UK comments: “After evaluating a number of products, V.I.O. cameras were chosen as they provided both the technical and aesthetic requirements for the movie.  When dealing with props, the look of the item is very important, and these cameras, being an important part of the suit, fulfilled that requirement.  The full HD image quality enabled us to use real footage from the cameras, without having to re-film sequences separately. Their rugged design and high build quality kept the cameras working on the most extreme on-set conditions.” V.I.O. pioneered the P.O.V. category over a decade ago; video quality, durability, and innovation are hallmarks of the V.I.O. brand. Designed for action sports, industrial, and military applications, V.I.O. cameras offer many unique features including infield editing and other patent pending technology.  www.vio-pov.com www.antonbauer.com Substantial order for audio loudness processing equipment T he decision by Frances CSA (Conseil Supérieur de l’Audiovisuel) to link the EBUs Loudness Recommendation R128 to its own audio-visual legislation is now focusing the attention of French broadcasters on purchasing loudness processing equipment that complies with the EBU R128 standard. One manufacturer that has already benefited is German dynamics specialist Junger Audio, which recently won a significant order for its loudness processing equipment from the French public broadcaster France Television. Junger Audio’s Managing Director Peter Poers says:  Our EBU R128-compliant loudness processing equipment has already been installed at every major broadcast facility in Germany and Switzerland, and we are delighted that Frances public broadcaster has also chosen to endorse our technology. Broadcasters have recognised the benefit of using our proprietary LEVEL MAGIC adaptive control algorithm and like the fact that it allows them to adjust the audio level from any source at any time, with no pumping, breathing or distortion. As a result it has become the algorithm of choice for line and real time processing”. www.junger-audio.com 24 | TV-BAY MAGAZINE
