WORLD NEWS American Public Television picks Cinegy Introducing new audio mixer S tudio Technologies Inc. is introducing the Model 742A Audio Mixer. The dual-audio-bus mixer is designed specifically for use in electronic newsgathering (ENG), small-scale production trucks and utility applications. An update to the popular Model 742, the new unit adds key features along with performance and reliability enhancements. The 742As resources include four mic/line inputs with 48-volt phantom power, four dedicated line-level inputs, two main and two monitor output buses. Also included are LED level metering, flexible monitoring and AC/ DC powering. The Model 742A is not a stereo mixer, but can create two independent monaural signals, making it excellent for general on-air tasks as well as signal monitoring, talent cueing and intercom support. Chelsea TV Channel deploys LiveU L iveU,  the pioneer of portable video-over-cellular solutions, has announced that Chelsea TV, Chelsea Football Club’s TV channel, is using LiveU cellular uplinking technology to provide live video coverage of its games, enhancing its communication with its fan base. LiveU’s LU70 units have been used to transmit pre- and post-match interviews with managers and players, giving greater access to key personnel, and expand its live coverage of matches at home and abroad.   LiveU was recently used to cover the club’s 2012 pre-season tour of the USA. The club toured the US at the end of July to allow its US supporters to see the team live and also for the team to prepare for the new season. The LiveU technology was used to provide all-round coverage of the games with Chelsea TV using it to send content immediately back to the stations modern facility at the clubs Stamford Bridge ground in London dynamically switching between Wi-Fi and 3G networks and also taking advantage of the Store and Forward facility. The content was then used to provide both up-to-date news and live coverage of the games.   The solution and support has been supplied to Chelsea FC by LiveU’s exclusive UK Distributor Garland Partners Ltd, which also includes a full service package. American Public Television (APT) has been a leading distributor of high-quality, top-rated programming to America’s public television stations since 1961. Since 2004, APT has distributed approximately half of the top 100 highest-rated public television titles. Due to the scale of the APT operation, management decided to build a centralized networked database and archive for the APT-delivered programming content. “We chose Cinegy due to its strong database archive heritage and overall workflow efficiencies.
