WORLD NEWS Vinten launches bluebridge V inten® has created the Vision bluebridge, an accessory that works with any of the pan and tilt heads in the Vision blue range to extend the payloads which can be perfectly balanced. The new accessory offers the ultimate flexibility to camera operators whether using the original Vision blue, the recently launched Vision blue3, or the Vision blue5. The Vision bluebridge works by shifting the payload range down and gives users a cost effective option by extending the payload capabilities of their chosen Vision blue system. This means operators effectively need one single tripod system for their shoots. The Vision blue family encompasses the three next generation head and tripod systems providing the perfect balance for payloads as low as 2.1kg/4.6lbs, to suit the lightest of camcorders and DSLRs, right up to 12kg/26.5lb for the larger professional cameras. www.vinten.com Tapeless preview for troops in Kuwait A JA Video Systems recently delivered AJA Ki Pro portable tapeless recorders to the editorial team of A Good Day to Die Hard to facilitate preview screenings of the film to United States troops stationed in Kuwait. Longtime AJA customer and editor of A Good Day to Die Hard, Dan Zimmerman travelled to Kuwait to set up the screening together with a USO production team. “Ki Pro is so small, portable and flexible. I was able to travel to Kuwait with a single carry-on backpack with two Ki Pros, to power two simultaneous high quality screenings of our film for over 1100 troops.” Said Zimmerman. “With one Ki Pro we were able to plug directly into a Barco projector and a Yamaha MC7 board and the picture and sound quality were both awesome -- this was the easiest screening I’ve ever done. Anything else would have been much more complicated.” www.aja.com CTV saves on UMD’s C ache-Media has supplied Marshall QV171X-HDSDI Quad monitors with IMD to CTV’s MVT3 OB ‘Tape’ truck. The IMD feature (In Monitor Display) allows picture source information and tallies to be displayed directly on the monitor, allowing space and financial savings to be made by negating the need for an Under Monitor Display (UMD) system. The QUAD VIEWER Series is the latest addition to Marshall’s line of IMD-equipped monitors. The QV171X-HDSDI 17” Quad Viewer features a full resolution 1920 x 1200 LCD panel, built-in high quality HD Quad Splitter, four independent HD-SDI inputs, one DVI-I input, IMD (In-Monitor Display) capability, Audio Presence indicator, and Time Code. Video and DVI-I both offer full screen mode, while quad-split mode is scaled to fit onscreen in the highest resolution. IMD and Tally are supported via manual mode, along with Image Video, NVISION, MEI (Marshall), and TSL protocols. Other features include Closed- Caption presence display, two front panel user-configurable function buttons, RS-422/485 port with pass-through, and field- upgradeable firmware. www.cache-media.com 12 | TV-BAY MAGAZINE TV-BAY075MAR13.indd 12 11/03/2013 16:51
