WORLD NEWS Affordable digital wireless system T eletest have launched their affordable HD digital wireless system, the Telesend. Rugged and lightweight, these compact transmitters and receivers have been designed for directors wanting to view the cameraman’s output, cable-free. Premiere mics at BVE S ource Distribution, the UK’s fastest growing distributor of broadcast audio products, hosted the UK debut of two groundbreaking new products from Australian manufacturer RØDE Microphones at BVE recently. On show were the new RØDE iXY, the world’s first 24 Bit/96kHz iOS compatible microphone that allows the Apple iPhone, iPad and iPod touch to become broadcast-quality portable stereo recording devices. The iXY was joined at the show floor by the recently-announced smartLav, a highly affordable lavalier microphone which can be directly connected to iOS devices - negating the need for phantom-powered preamps or wireless systems traditionally associated with lavaliers. www.sourcedistribution.co.uk Live news to UK from iPhone® in China With the optional waterproof receiver housing, the Telesend can also be used on outside broadcasts and live events. Operating on the 5GHz licence free frequencies, the Telesend transmits uncompressed broadcast quality HD-SDI and HDMI signals over distances of 20/30m (moving) to 70m (static) with a delay of less than 1ms. With Teletest’s automatic channel scanning feature, three Telesend’s can be used in the same location at any one time with no fuss nor setting up. www.teletest.tv Dejero, creator of the award-winning LIVE+ Platform of bonded wireless uplink solutions for ENG, have announced that Sky News has conducted the world’s first intercontinental live video interview using Dejero’s LIVE+ Mobile App installed on an iPhone®.  Last month, Sky News cameraman Andy Portch and correspondent Mark Stone used the iPhone to deliver a live video interview from the center of a censorship protest in Guangzhou, China.
