The last few years have seen a step change in how we connect to media,
whether it be via mobile devices, second screens or via the home TV with the
multitude of catch-up and on demand services on tap. The connected world
is changing so much that visionaries such as IBC, who have successfully run the “IBC
Connected World” zone, an exhibition feature within the main event, for several years at the
show have announced a new development, the “IBC Content Everywhere” brand.
The change reflects that this area of the industry is no longer seen as a discrete, niche part
of the business and goes way beyond the 5 day event each September offering global
satellite events. More news on this to follow during and after IBC but for the last time this
year if you are at the show you can visit the “IBC Connected World” and soak up the latest
in the digital media revolution!
Summer and sport seem to go hand in hand and as the nights draw in we are featuring
in this issue the technology behind some of the major live events of 2013. Two themes
in particular standing out are wireless camera technology and how it has changed the
way producers are able to work together with cellular connectivity where bonding mobile
networks together delivers live content from practically anywhere with the minimum setup
or kit. Q&A’s, case studies and expert advice all within...
If you’re not able to make it to IBC then turn to page 45 and see the programme guide
for our live broadcasts from the show. We have over 25 hours of live streaming covering
numerous exhibitors, panel discussions and technology showcases direct from hall 11
stand A43 at IBC. It all kicks off 10am (9am UK time) Friday 13th September at
www.broadcastshow.com/live Hot on the heels of IBC we’ll be bringing leading manufacturers with some of their latest kit
to Belfast, Leeds and London with tv-bay’s BroadcastShow Tour. Philip Bloom will be on
tour with us delivering his world renowned seminar talks. Lots to see and learn and it’s all
free just register here, www.broadcastshow.com/tour
If you’re at IBC drop by the studio to say hello, you’ll find us in
Hall 11 stand A43 with our partners Teradek and Holdan.
Enjoy the issue.
