Longer runtimes with Pocket Camera power adaptor H awk-Woods have announced the launch of their new power adaptor for the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera. This new adaptor uses the popular BPU-type battery and offers dramatically increased runtimes without losing the camera’s mobility or obstructing any of its on- board functions or connections. The BST-1 ‘Boost’ adaptor attaches simply and securely in seconds using the included thumbscrews which have the added benefi t of a ¼” BSW thread; allowing the user to still attach the camera to a tripod and even add accessories – power to which can be provided via the adaptor’s built-in Power-Con (or D-Tap) output. The adaptor kit also includes cap-head screws for users who wish to maintain the camera’s compact dimensions as much as possible. Runtimes of over 2 hours can be achieved using Hawk-Woods’ 30W/h BP-30U battery whilst, for those requiring even longer runtimes or extra power for accessories, Hawk-Woods also manufacture 60- Watt and 75-Watt versions of this battery which is a direct replacement for Sony’s BPU type.
