The latest purchase includes a Blackmagic URSA 4k camera, which is scheduled for a July delivery, and a GB Labs LTO archive system which will significantly increase Trickbox’s storage capacity in preparation for more 4k content. Other equipment in this round of investment includes HD monitors, video routers and file-based recorders for location work, and accessories including cine DSLR lenses and a shoulder rig for Trickboxs recently purchased Panasonic GH4 camera. The studio equipment at Tower Bridge TV Studios will also benefit from several mini- upgrades including better sound monitoring and analysis. All the equipment will be supplied by CVP. www.trickboxtv.com New 4k DI suite Q ube Cinema has installed its XP-I server and Xi 4k integrated media block (IMB) in Super Star Power Productions’ new 4k DI suite in Los Angeles. The combination postproduction facility and theater offers a seamless 4k pipeline from review of uncompressed 4k image files taken directly from 4k cameras, through color grading at 4K, to the Qube XP-I server and Xi IMB and projected via Barco’s new DP4K-P postproduction projector. Hollywood producers and directors of feature films will now be able to review 4k images, color grade at 4k in real time and generate 4k DCPs for final QC, all from a single 4k projector in a home-like setting. www.qubecinema.com 26 | TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 91 JULY 2014 Dubbing theatre upgrades S crub, a division of HHB Communications Ltd. specialising in serving the post production industry, has supplied Molinare Post Production with major upgrades to its audio dubbing theatres that include a Soundminer v4.5 Pro installation and Pro Tools HDX upgrades. Scrub worked with Molinare’s Technical Department to update all eight dubbing theatres to the latest Pro Tools HDX hardware, a process that began with the installation of an Avid S5 Fusion Control Surface with HDX in Dub A and HDX in Dub B in the summer of 2013. The second phase included integrating HDX and the Soundminer Pro effects engine in all of Molinares dubbing theatres and support suites across both of its Soho locations.
