Welcome ISSUE 99: MARCH 2015 H www.kitplus.com ot on the heels of BVE this very topical issue is where we get connected in all manner of ways. One of the major attractions of a show like BVE, aside from the vast array of kit on show and the literally dozens of top class free seminars, is the networking. It’s a great meeting place to catch up with friends and colleagues and this year was no different with the show bar buzzing for the duration and people walking away with refreshed contacts and new projects on the horizon. To aid this process, or maybe transform it forever, a new service is about to launch in the coming weeks. Movidiam is an online professional web based creative network and collaborative project management application designed specifically for filmmaking. What sets this apart from other sites, some becoming ghost towns, is that it is designed by filmmakers facing the same challenges as everyone else. Take a look at the full report on page 72. Rewind a few years and satellite was the only realistic solution for connected real-time video delivery but with the global explosion of the 3G and 4G cellular wireless networks the growing demands are starting to be met. We get back to basics on page 64 in this issue looking at the options, pro’s and con’s and touching on the issue of 4k delivery. Every so often a story comes in to Kitplus which although touches on kit choices is more about the personal drama unfolding and this month’s cover shot says it all! A career change for an architect to capture ocean events is not the norm and when the crash button is hit what happened next? Check it all out in the warm and dry on page 74. The Kitplus studio was streaming non-stop during BVE and if you missed anything then do take a look on www.kitplus.com where you’ll find links to both studio sessions and many exhibitor interviews.
