Router control Broadcast Pix has unveiled a new software option that extends the I/O of its integrated production switchers and allows cross-point control of router sources to router destinations feeding a Broadcast Pix system. Router Control is designed to work with AJA Video Systems KUMO SDI routers. It was developed at the request of Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS), a systems integration firm based in the US. “We had a customer who needed more inputs but couldn’t afford to upgrade to a large production switcher, and they didn’t have the space for a larger control panel,” explained Mark Siegel, president of ABS. “Broadcast Pix’s Router Control was the affordable and powerful solution we needed to increase their access to more sources from across their facility.” Audio Consoles Channel One Russia Worldwide has installed a Calrec Artemis Light digital audio console in its Moscow production studio. The international arm of Channel One purchased the desk as part of a facility-wide upgrade to HD. OKNO-TV, Calrec’s partner in Moscow, handled the sale and installation. The purchase marks the 32nd Calrec console installed in Moscow. Finishing Sony PCL, the Japan-based event and video production company, has placed an order with Quantel for a Pablo Rio 8K editing, colour correction and finishing system. The Pablo Rio 8K will be the backbone of Sony PCL’s 8K post pipeline when the company launches the a commercial 8K production service from its Creation Center in August 2015.
