Welcome ISSUE 106: OCTOBER 2015 www.kitplus.com 56 Welcome to issue 106 It’s the IBC review issue and you’ll fi nd an in-depth news report covering all angles of the show. It was our 5th IBC fi lming exhibitor interviews and the most successful yet with in excess of 100 products covered in over 70 videos. You can fi nd them all on the website of course as well as many QR codes in this issue which you can scan and watch online. The 14 halls in Amsterdam were awash with many products and updates but probably lacking anything of particularly industry game changing magnitude. That isn’t to say the products on show will not change the course of how we go about our business. IP continues to be a stand out technology and is gaining momentum leading to the most seismic development in acquisition delivery and control we may have seen for a very long time. Remotely switching and delivery of live shows and sports events without the need for a local truck and all the costs that go with it could be the Holy Grail for many. At IBC, Gearhouse were showing a demo of a live 4k feed sent via fi bre to another hall where it was cut together using an EVS switcher. However, like the issues facing 4k, the hurdle of delivery (bandwidth) remains something of an issue for some. You can watch the interview with Gearhouse explaining how, why and what here….
