NEWS CAPTURE & PRODUCE Rental and staging Orlando-based rental and staging company Kobryn Communications (KCI) is using a FOR-A HVS- 2000 as the video switcher in its 3G-compliant fl ypack system. Used to cover live events across the US, the equipment was fi rst put through its paces during a production in August for Interline Brands. “The switcher’s MELite capability lets us customise the system based on each show’s individual needs,” said John Kobryn, president of KC. “The unit’s event and macro features make it easy and fast to confi gure the switcher for each event, and the 1080p/3G support means we can get our signals to screen in their original resolution.” The fi rst outing for the HVS-2000 featured eight screens - supported by three independent video feeds - and 20 video sources. Prompting Portaprompt have launched the new Fusion Range at IBC and will be showing these at the KitPlus event in MediaCity in November. The new range comprises prompting head ups available in 15”, 17” and 19” screen sizes. The mid-budget prompting system is £1495 ex vat and designed for pro users who do not need the extended facilities of the Portaprompt Broadcast Quasar or Premium rigs but fi nd that the 365 Personal Prompter rigging options are too limiting and require larger screen prompters. www.portaprompt.co.uk www.for-a.com 10 | KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 107 NOVEMBER 2015
