NEWS MANAGE & MONITOR Audio & video quality Video Clarity has released the ClearView Extreme 8K video quality analyser and the ClearView Player 8K uncompressed 8K/4k/HD/SD recorder and player. The ClearView Extreme 8K allows users to measure and analyse the quality of 8K uncompressed video using perceptual metrics and side- by-side visual comparison on a single monitor. Blake Homan, founder of Video Clarity, said: “With ClearView Extreme 8K, we’ve invented the first appliance that lets people visually compare 8K video to encoded video so they can understand the effects of different processing scenarios. It can analyse video at any resolution and frame rate so manufacturers and service providers can prepare and test for quality in specific new multi-resolution video-delivery scenarios that include 8K.” The Extreme 8K is designated for use in labs at television broadcast networks, cable, satellite, and IPTV service providers; and television signal-processing product manufacturers. The ClearView Player allows segments of 8K video to be played back either in long form or short form loop. Connections are via coaxial BNC and an SFP MADI port. The SFP can be multimode, single mode fibre or BNC and both MADI outputs are independently configurable. MADI.
