EditShare is touting a spike in orders for its recently released XStream EFS shared storage product. Recent customers include Endemol/MoovIT (Germany), Sid Lee (Canada, The Netherlands, USA) and WMHT TV (USA). “The advancements we have made with the new EFS architecture expand far beyond standard shared storage capabilities,” said Andy Liebman, founder and president, EditShare. “Its a high-performance, scale-out platform with extensive media management capabilities that lets our customers converge workflows, better facilitate multi- site collaboration and manage large file formats such as 4k, 8k and beyond with ease. And thanks to EditShare’s fully redundant architecture, customers have all this versatility and power combined with the peace of mind that important projects are safe.” Shared storage Archion Technologies has unveiled three new developments for shared media storage including EditStor Velo, a 4k server with a throughput of up to 5000 MB/sec. The other advances see EditStor Omni performance increased up to 8000 MB/sec and a debut for the PICS (Picture, Index, Clips, Search) media management system. Archion chief executive Reuben Lima said: “Our roadmap is targeted not only on developing the best technology, but also with a continued focus on cost-effective solutions that simplify growth and add performance as our customers’ storage needs expand. The result is a product line that offers scalability with increased performance at a fraction of the cost of our competitors.” MAM Suitcase TV has expanded its sales team with the appointment of Ynze Mens as European sales manager. Mens has previously worked for Sony, VAR Network, Disk Archive Corporation, and OASYS (now BroadStream) among other companies. In his new role he will work alongside commercial director Fraser Jardine and vice president of products Ed Calverley, who he also worked with at OASYS. A further addition to the sales team is Ross Page who was previously a systems engineer at Screen Systems. Page takes on the role of technical sales engineer supporting all sales activities within EMEA. T&M Leader Electronics has announced that it will support the ASPEN protocol in future products. It said that the decision forms part of the company’s commitment to ensure that its hardware and software conforms to the “IP-based data- exchange formats increasingly being used in the broadcast television, radio and professional audio markets.” ASPEN’s low latency with independent video, audio and ancillary data flows is considered suitable for use in production environments and workflows. .
