Comms Comms CoachComm’s new professional intercom division Pliant Technologies will get its ofﬁcial launch at NAB (booth C12719) where it will showcase the Tempest Wireless Intercom System. Pliant Technologies founder and chief executive Peter Amos said: “Continuing our success from the Tempest wireless intercom product line, our team - now under the Pliant umbrella - will redeﬁne wireless intercom once again. We aim to take a new, pioneering approach to wireless communication, paying close attention to the speciﬁc needs of our users in the professional marketplace.” At NAB Riedel Communications will demonstrate how interconnected MicroN units can be a viable alternative to using traditional routers. MicroN is a high-density distribution network for Riedel’s MediorNet line of real-time media transport and management products. The company will show how it can be deployed to create a decentralised routing system for SDI that distributes signal load, takes advantage of ﬂexible node placement, and eliminates any single point of failure. MicroN includes on-board signal- processing capabilities such as frame synchronisation, embedding/ de-embedding, and delays.
