MOBILE ENCODING BANDWIDTH INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES EuNetworks has expanded its Media Connect technology into MediaCityUK in Salford, Greater Manchester. The additional diversity and direct fibre connection will go into Dock10’s facility. “This investment increases the reach of our network and importantly, diverse routes for our customers into Manchester and beyond,” said Kevin Dean, chief marketing officer of euNetworks. “Owning and managing our own network, with direct fibre connection into key sites and data centres, means we can support the bandwidth requirements of our customers today as well as plan for future bandwidth demands as they seek to push more of their workflow online to the cloud.” Media Connect launched in September 2015. The company has connections to key media areas around the UK and Europe including fibre from Chiswick Park to the west of London, to Wood Lane and Soho, further east to Here East in Stratford and to Hilversum in the Netherlands. Soliton Systems has appointed Seltec to resell its products within the Austrian and Swiss market. Seltec specialises in live events, especially around sports. As a result of the agreement, the company will supply the Soliton Smart Telecaster to other broadcasters and TV production companies. Soliton Systems manufactures the Smart-telecaster ZAO product, a mobile HEVC transmitter for streaming live broadcasts direct from cameras over multiple mobile 3G or 4G networks. Considered ideal for news and sports environments, the ZAO product is a mobile H.265 hardware-based transmitter that can either be mounted on the camera, or reside in a backpack. It has been used on motorbikes, cars, helicopters and gyrocopters without the need for RF base stations or satellite systems. solitonsys.com eunetworks.com KITPLUS - THE TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 114 JUNE 2016 | 29
