CAMERA SUPPORT Miller Camera Support Equipment unveiled two new product ranges, the arrowX series and the Combo Live Pedestal series, to the Asian market at Broadcast Asia. The arrowX is an evolution of the company’s Arrow Series of fluid heads that includes Miller’s CB Plus, a sequential counterbalance design for repeatable, accurate and rapid set-up. The Combo Live Pedestal has a sturdy design for maximum stability and is intended for live studio applications. Joseph White, Miller Camera Support Equipment’s regional sales manager for Asia and Africa, said: “With new features such as the CB Plus counterbalance system featured on the arrowX, as well as the easy adjustments for the Combo Live Pedestals, broadcasters are now able to rig and re-rig for quick and efficient shoots with ease - both in the studio and on location.” CAMERAS Ikegami’s new 4K UHK-430 portable broadcast camera made its Asia Pacific market debut at Broadcast Asia. The first in Ikegami’s new generation Unicam XE range of cameras, the UHK-430 incorporates three 4K-native 2/3 inch 8 megapixel CMOS sensors that provide 3840 x 2160 Ultra High Definition resolution plus the depth of field required for studio and outdoor production. The B4 bayonet mount is compatible with 2/3 inch HD lenses while an optional SE-U430 expander accommodates large studio or OB lenses. The camera’s two-piece construction allows the sensor and lens head to be detached as a compact unit for deployment on a support device such as long-reach manually controlled camera poles. The camera uses a new processor, the AXII, that is said to reduce power consumption. Additional features include 16-axis colour correction and focus-assist for 4K and HD video modes.
