SPEAKERS At IBC Genelec demonstrated the 8430A, an AoIP (AES67) studio monitor. The 8430A is based on the Ravenna protocol and is capable of direct monitoring of AoIP streamed content. A member of the SAM (Smart Active Monitoring) family it works with Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM), including AutoCal, to ensure users can achieve the best possible results in their monitoring environment. “Audio-over-IP has now evolved from a fascinating concept to a proven technology, and with the 8430A, we’re very proud to be at the forefront of its development,” said Genelec marketing director Lars-Olof Janflod. genelec.com ASSET MANAGEMENT ARCHIVE TMD has partnered with Disk Archive to add the ALTO to the storage options for its Paragon archive offering. ALTO is a replication-based, high-density cold storage platform that removes the need for tapes and clustered storage for large volumes of archive storage. Its MAID- III architecture creates a non-linear alternative to LTFS tape storage. Paragon manages the online, offline and vault storage replicas in the same way as barcoded tapes. TMD has also entered into a joint venture with ERA in order to create a cloud subscription service for archiving. Coeus is hosted in ERA’s dedicated data centre in the UK and will offer a range of asset management applications that run on TMD’s Mediaflex-UMS platform and are made available via a web browser. Pebble Beach Systems and Tedial have developed a new product called Multiverse that is designed to create a seamless workflow between a broadcaster’s Media Asset Management (MAM) and playout systems. Announced at IBC, Multiverse integrates the MAM capabilities and linear playout systems in order to provide a cross-platform media preparation and delivery offering. Because it processes media once for all platforms, it is said to unify and speed up on- demand and linear content workflows, and reduce operational costs through automation. “By leveraging the proven integration between Pebble and Tedial and defining specific workflows, we believe Multiverse provides broadcasters with a no compromise solution,” said Tom Gittins, chief executive Pebble Beach Systems. Also at IBC Tedial showcased Version Factory, the media factory workflow, and Evolution BPM, the Business Process Management workflow engine. tedial.com tmd.tv Draco tera KVM switches connect operators to vital production equipment with no transmission delay or picture degradation.
