NEWS MANIPULATE & EDIT CONTENT WORKFLOWS BROADCAST AUDIO Marquis Broadcast is touting a new media management and archive option for Avid users that is based around the integration of Project Parking, its Avid storage management application, with Spectra Logic’s BlackPearl deep storage gateway. The tie-up allows for the retrieval of bins and media from a project in a permanent deep archive. Chris Steele, managing director, Marquis Broadcast, said: “Because Avid storage is such a valuable commodity the integration’s greatest benefit is the optimisation of space. Parking’s media management enables the identification of duplicate and orphan media. We commonly see 15 to 20 per cent becoming freed-up within a week of implementation.” Cable TV Hong Kong has purchased an additional Calrec Audio Artemis digital audio console, the fifth Artemis in its audio desk line-up. The 40-fader desk is installed in Cable TV’s News Studio 3. Jolly Pro Audio, a Hong Kong-based systems integrator and Calrec’s regional distributor, handled system installation and testing. Andy Leung, executive director, Jolly Pro Audio, said: “After rigorous evaluation and testing, they chose the Artemis because it offers the reliability and usability they require.” A division of iCable Communications, Cable TV Hong Kong offers subscribers news, sports, and entertainment programming through more than 100 channels, 54 of which offer the network’s own locally produced shows. It has been an Artemis user since 2012.
