EDUCATION #TVFutures This month, Danny Hutchings talks about student life... Q uite a lot has happened since my last article here with tv-bay in January! Previously I mentioned how we where working on a 25-30 minute IPTV music show and since then have finished that project with a high merit. We cut the final project up into sections to give to the talent their part of the show; they all were extremely pleased with the results that they wish to come back and record some more with us very soon! It would definitely be a pleasure to work with them again! Currently at the moment Rhiannon and myself are in the planning stages for our final major project where the brief itself is quite loose which gives us plenty more room for our own creativity! the old fort that would defend the coast during WW2, which has now been converted into a museum, we went with this because of the different events they hold. We are only in the pre-production stages at this time, but I am excited to move forward with it! A group of us have recently made our own small independent media company called TwoFive6 and have set up a Youtube channel to upload all of our productions. It is a great way to get our names out there and potentially receive work. To individually put me out there I need to make a show reel of my work, so I am also working on that on top of everything else. I have built up quite a collection of clips and constantly getting more all the time. I’m very excited working on this as it means I can really be as creative as I want to be and I sure am going to take full advantage of that. For now it is just finding the right music I want for it that is royalty free, which seems to be a problem at the moment. I’ll get there in the end! (EDITOR’S note: turn to page 70 and read all about royalty free music…) Next year I will be doing a top-up course for me to reach a full degree, I have recently just received 2 offers from different uni’s which is turning out to be a stressful choice and one of the bigger decisions I’ve made. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for me. © by Vsfx via Wikimedia Commons One of the ideas that we had floating about was a small independent company that work with light mapping, going to festivals and other events. It would have been extremely visually pleasing and different to film a short documentary about this. Another idea was a parkour documentary. I’m very much in the scene and know some of the parkour legends as well as most of the locals and it would be interesting to see their different perspectives on how it has changed their lives for the better. Many have changed their lives around by getting out of crime, drugs, and depression…to simple things like new social networks and challenge the body and mind. I think I will do this as a side project that I will work on in my own time. The idea that we have chosen is to do a documentary on Nothe Fort, 48 | TV-BAY MAGAZINE: ISSUE 89 MAY 2014 Contribute with your experiences to #tvfutures
