The DUO-C98 and DUO-C198 are compact powerful batteries from IDX.
The DUO-C98 offers almost 100 watt hours in a package weighing just 620 grams. It’s ideal for mounting on rigs or where mobility is important. Its 9.5 amp draw is sufficient for all but the most demanding of applications.

Features abound with 3 D.C. output plugs to power all the ancillaries now essential to modern film making.
One is the conventional D-Tap, offering battery voltage output on a low cost cable. This same cable can be used on the second plug, the D-Tap advanced connector. In addition to D.C. output, this D-Tap advanced connector allows controlled charging of the battery from the compact and low cost IDX charger the VL-DT1. The third D.C. output uses the very popular USB format to give 5.0 volts at up to 2.3 amps.
Being IDX safety is very important with over discharge, over charge and over current battery protection circuitry as standard.
For those needing to find items in the dark, be it the bottom of a kit bag or on a remote wildlife shoot, both the DUO-C98 and DUO-C198 have a V-Torch feature, a small LED light mounted near the V-lock mount that can be activated by the user.
Battery capacity is quickly and accurately accessed externally on the battery via 5 bright LED’s that can be seen in sunlight. For those with equipment able to read the capacity digitally, this feature is supported potentially giving the camera user available run time in the viewfinder
The DUO-C98 is often described as flight safe. Being under 100Wh, regulations allow an unlimited number to be carried on board an aircraft as cabin baggage. To facilitate this each DUO-C98 carries a label with a QR code to access the relevant regulations.
Being a larger capacity battery over 160Wh the DUO-C198 is not suitable for taking on aircraft but provides long run times for power hungry equipment needing high current with up to 13 Amps draw supported.
