Panasonic LUMIX S5 FULL frame hybrid DSLR. Alister Chapman talks to Kriss Hampton.
Kriss Hampton speaks with Aliter Chapman about the new Panasonic Lumix S5. The hybrid DSLR that we think might be taylored to video before stills, but with 24mp it's a very capable stills camera too. Feature rich, compact and Lightweight hybrid camera, with everything you need under £2,000 with V-Log included. Lens and in body stabilisation combine to offer 6.5 stops of stabilisation and 10bit 60p internal recording. Being a splashproof and dustproof body you might expect it to overheat when working hard. There is a 30 minute limit when shooting in any 10bit mode which may be designed to avoid this, but it does offer 4K 60p & 1080 120fps with continuous AF, 150fps with no crop & manual focus, or 180fps with APS-C crop and it wont overheat! Face, body and animal recognition offers the best AF performance of any LUMIX camera so far. Could this be the perfect starter camera, and perfect companion to your EVA or other high end cinema camera.
