Blackmagic Design Announces New Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K
Blackmagic Design today announced the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, a new handheld digital film camera with a full Super 35 size 6K HDR image sensor, 13 stops of dynamic range, an EF lens mount and dual native ISO up to 25,600 for incredible low light performance. This new model builds on the popularity of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K but has a larger Super 35 sensor size with 6K resolution, allowing higher image quality. The EF lens mount model works with a wide range of lenses from companies such as Canon, Zeiss, Sigma and Schneider.

MediaKind developed the 360-degree live encoding workflow incorporating Tiledmedia’s ClearVR viewport-adaptive streaming technology, all deployed in Google Cloud Platform. The solution delivered two live 6K 360-degree video streams from a basketball match to consumers.

Blackmagic Design today announced that the company’s production and post products are being used to complete many of the fall 2018 season’s new and returning television shows and streaming series. More than 55 shows rely on Blackmagic Design’s digital film cameras; Fusion Studio visual effects (VFX), compositing, 3D and motion graphics software; and DaVinci Resolve Studio editing, color correction and digital audio software; as well as its switchers, routers, monitors and capture and playbackdevices.

Furthermore, the sci-fi documentary film was shot exclusively with digital film cameras from Blackmagic Design, including the URSA Mini 4.6K and URSA Mini Pro.

Blackmagic Design today announced that American rock band Weezers new music video for its song Feels Like Summer was shot using an URSA Mini Pro 4.6K digital film camera. Cinematographer Gabe Kimpson, along with Directors Brendan Walter of Crush Music and Jade Ehlers, were tasked with replicating the legendary Guns N Roses Paradise City video with Weezer on the stage in front of screaming fans instead, as told from the point of view of a Weezer roadie in the 1980s.

Blackmagic Design announced today that DP Judd Overton is using a Blackmagic URSA Mini 4.6K EF to shoot the hit Australian television show No Activity created by production company Jungle for the Stan network.
