Ikegami Announces BSX-100 3G Fibre Base Station

Ikegami Electronics Europe (www.ikegami.de) announces a new addition to its range of broadcast production equipment. The BSX-100 is a 3G fibre base station offering a coherent upgrade path for broadcasters and production companies as they progress from SDI to IP, from standard dynamic range to high dynamic range and from high definition into HD/4K dual-format workflow.

The BSX-100 is fully compatible with Ikegami Unicam HD system cameras, including the HDK-99 and HDK-73. It will also support Ikegami's future 4K-native cameras. In its standard form, the base station provides 3G-SDI/HD-SDI HD output.

SMPTE ST.2110 Media over IP interfacing is available as an option for use across 10GbE and 25GbE networks. Also available as an option is a 4K output software key allowing use of HD cameras in a variety of configurations which include simultaneous production in HD and 4K resolutions. Complementary 12G-SDI / 3G-SDI quad link interfaces are also available. This approach allows 3G camera systems to be integrated into 4K environments easily and cost-efficiently.

The Ikegami BSX-100 provides full support for Hybrid Log Gamma in conformance with ITU-R BT.2100 which is the international standard for HDR. Wide colour gamut is also supported.

Cinegy today announced TURBOCUT, a new Adobe CC plug-in which significantly accelerates the editing of H.264/HEVC by utilising the NVIDIA GPU’s hardware decoder. This announcement coincides with Adobe releasing version 14.2 of Adobe Premiere with several new features added, but still missing NVIDIA hardware accelerated editing and using the NVIDIA GPU for decoding H.264 and HEVC.

As Jan Weigner, CEO Cinegy GmbH explained, “For many years, tens of thousands of users have been using the Daniel2 Plug-in for Adobe CC, which already offered the NVIDIA accelerated export of H.264 and HEVC. So when we accelerated the editing and import features, it was obvious that the original product name didn’t match the main goal of the plug-in with the Daniel2 video codec technology. TURBOCUT enables faster editing and production with better video quality and it’s also much easier to remember than Daniel2 Plugin for Adobe CC!

Ikegami UHK-430 and HDK-99 Cameras Chosen for New 4K OB Vehicle

Ikegami UHK-430 and HDK-99 cameras have been chosen for a recently completed 4K OB vehicle, designed and built by Milan-based broadcast system integrator Aret Video & Audio Engineering. The vehicle was commissioned in time to cover the Qatar National Day festivities celebrating the country's foundation in 1878.

"The Ikegami cameras were selected both for their high signal quality and for the proven excellence of Ikegami post-sale support," comments Aret's Vice President Alessandro Asti. "Eight UHK-430 models have been purchased plus two docking-style HDK-99. All 10 cameras can be tripod or pedestal mounted to achieve steady long-zoom closeup capture of fast-moving action while retaining the freedom to operate in free-style over-the-shoulder mode. The HDK-99 can be configured to feed directly from the camera control unit into any 4K periphery."

Ikegami’s Middle East office, located in Dubai, assisted in the customer’s decision-making by providing consultation support and product demonstrations.

Ikegami observers were present to offer assistance over multiple days during the ongoing festivities," adds Asim Saeed, Business Development Manager – Ikegami Middle East. All the equipment worked perfectly and the production went flawlessly.

LYNX Technik Launches yellobrik 8K Fiber Transmission Solution

LYNX Technik, provider of modular signal processing interfaces announces its new 8K yellobrik fiber transmission solution.

The LYNX Technik yellobrik (model: OTR 1A41) 8K fiber transmission system solves the challenge of transporting real-time, uncompressed 8K content (up to 48G) over long distances with zero signal degradation or loss. The standalone, self-contained kit includes all the parts needed to send 8K uncompressed video over a single fiber link. It consists of four independent 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI channels with each channel individually reclocked and supporting resolutions up to 2160p/60Hz. The kits include the 8K optical transmitter, 8K optical receiver and power supply.

The new OTR 1A41 8K fiber transmission solution can also be combined with existing yellobrik bi-directional transceivers to add Ethernet signals or RS232/RS422/RS485 signals to the 8K fiber link.

This new yellobrik supports uncompressed video at full 7680x4320 50/59.94/60 Hz resolutions with zero delay and complements LYNX Technik’s existing 4K transmission solutions, the OTR 1442 and OTR 1441.

Full audio support makes this 8K transmission set a fully-featured solution. The modules transparently transport all embedded audio, metadata and ancillary data which is present in each of the four independent SDI streams.

This system can be used as standalone or mounted onto 19” yellobrik rack trays to build a larger 8K transmission system.

With expansive product lines supporting 4K, 12G, HDR, and IP workflows, FOR-A Corporation of America will offer a “World of Possibilities” to attendees at the 2020 NAB Show (Booth C5016) in April in Las Vegas, Nev. Making its NAB debut, the new MFR-6100 routing switcher was built to support 12G-SDI infrastructures. It provides single-cable transfer of 4K video for less complex cabling. The MFR-6100 also includes multi-format I/O support, auto signal detection, and SNMP monitoring support. Add up to 16 I/O cards (nine channels per card) to configure a matrix up to 144x144.

Processing remains an important part of today’s multi-format broadcast environment. Designed to support live HDR broadcast production, the FA-9600 multi-purpose signal processor provides HDR and Wide Color Gamut support and conversion of multiple formats, including 12G, 4K, 1080p, and HD/SD. FOR-A also offers frame rate converters such as the FRC-9100, which supports 3G, HD, and SD content, including upconversion and interlace-to-progressive conversion. The FRC-9100 can also support 12G-SDI and 4K content with optional software.

Additionally, FOR-A will demonstrate efficient HD integration with third-party graphics, replay systems, and production servers, including partner products such as the ODYSSEY Insight video server, ClassX content creation and graphics playout solution, Variant Systems Group's Envivo Replay sports and live event replay solution, and InSync's frame synchronizer, frame rate converter, and up/down converters.

Ikegami Announces Product Lineup for CABSAT 2020

 

 

 

 

Ikegami representatives head to the Dubai World Trade Centre in March for CABSAT 2020, the largest broadcast media show in the Middle East region. The exhibition together with its supporting conference and workshop will be held from March 31st through April 2nd. Highlights of the Ikegami exhibit on stand C4-20 will be the UHL-43 compact HDR camera which was shown in prototype at CABSAT 2019 and is now fully deliverable, the UHK-430 system camera with IP interface and the HQLM-3125X master grade video monitor.

The Ikegami UHL-43 is a compact HDR camera designed for applications such as robotic studios, outside broadcasting of live events, parliamentary television and point-of-view image capture.

Ikegami's UHK-430 is a 4K-native studio camera system with simultaneous HDR/SDR processing. Its three 2/3 inch CMOS sensors provide full 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution plus the depth of field needed for studio and outdoor production. The camera is equipped with a B4 bayonet mount compatible with 2/3 inch UHD and HD lenses. An optional SE-U430 expander accommodates large studio or OB lenses.

 

Ikegami's recently introduced HQLM-3125X is a 31 inch 4K-UHD master-grade monitor with 4,096 × 2,160 pixel 10-bit resolution and high brightness (1,000 candela per square metre).
