Premier systems integration firm Advanced Broadcast Solutions (ABS) announced today the continued success of the Audio, Visual, Lighting Conference and Expo (AVL Expo). Produced in collaboration with Experience Church.tv®, the third AVL Expo was held Oct. 1 at Experience Church in Puyallup, Wash., and attracted approximately 125 attendees.
Designed specifically for the worship community, the one-day event featured a variety of conference sessions, as well as select group of vendors with products that address the needs of AV practitioners and church pastors. Dennis Cummins, Pastor at Experience Church.tv, said AVL serves a niche in the Pacific Northwest that no other conference is serving.
We were surprised to see so many new attendees this year, Cummins added. This lets us know that there is a continual need of training and education. ABS is an important part of it all they bring the technical expertise and we help apply it to the church realm. Its really a great partnership.
This year, AVL Expo featured a strong focus on audio, with three sessions devoted to live mixing, broadcasting mixing, microphone placement, and other issues. Other sessions focused on lighting and staging, camera operation and image magnification (I-MAG), video editing, and streaming and Web strategies. Those looking to dive into the realm of streaming video find it difficult to put all the pieces together, Cummins said. We are able to show them how to marry the products together to best suit their needs in the most cost effective way possible.
Once again, AVL Expo delivered great sessions and attracted a great group of attendees, said Mark Siegel, President of ABS. The enthusiasm of the worship community is second to none, and its rewarding to see representatives from smaller congregations embracing big ideas for their facilities. We look forward to building on the success of AVL Expo with more programs in 2011.
