AWS Launches AWS Elemental Link UHD

Today AWS announced the general availability of AWS Elemental Link UHD, a High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) encoding device that makes it simple and cost efficient to connect a live ultra-high definition (UHD) video source, like a camera or other video production equipment, to AWS Elemental Media Live for video processing in the AWS Cloud. With Link UHD, users can seamlessly create high dynamic range (HDR) outputs, including HDR 10 and HLG, in MediaLive channels to ensure a high-quality picture for a range of streaming applications - from enterprise events and live sports to music, fitness classes, education, training, healthcare and beyond.

Streamly puts live event audiences in the director chair with AWS Posted: 04/05/2021
Streamly puts live event audiences in the director chair with AWS

Whether binge-watching a new series, catching a baseball game live or tuning into an online event, modern audiences favor personalized viewing experiences. In tune with this trend, UK-based media delivery startup Streamly envisioned a portable multichannel encoding and processing solution built on AWS Media Services that’s transforming how audiences watch live events online, from concerts to corporate webinars and beyond. With it, event organizers can easily synchronize and aggregate multiple HD camera feeds from a venue for cloud video processing and make them accessible to audiences for live and on-demand viewing with dynamic graphics overlays and geographically tailored ad insertion. Audiences can then select from a host of camera angles to drive their own viewing experience.

Broadpeak Uses AWS Wavelength and 5G to Streamline Video Delivery

Broadpeak® a leading provider of content delivery network (CDN) and video streaming solutions for content providers and pay-TV operators worldwide, announced today that it is deploying its advanced CDN technology on AWS Wavelength for streamlined video delivery over the 5G network. By leveraging Multi-Access Edge Computing (MEC) and AWS Wavelength, which brings AWS services to the edge of the 5G network, thereby minimizing the latency to connect to an application from a mobile device, Broadpeak's local cache servers can directly serve the video traffic requested by local 5G devices instead of having the content streamed from a more distant location. Using this approach to streaming, video service and content providers can dynamically manage and precisely adjust their CDN capacity based on localized spikes in consumer demand.
