Atempo Signs Boxer To Resell Data Protection And Archiving Solutions To Broadcast And Post-Production Industry

Date: 20/07/2010
Atempo, a leading provider of cross-platform data protection and archiving solutions, has signed Boxer Systems Ltd, to resell Atempo Digital Archive (ADA) and Atempo Time Navigator (ATN) to data-intensive environments in the broadcast and post-production industry.
The partnership further supports Atempo's growing momentum in the creative industry and strengthens existing joint customer relationships with Marajan TV and CNBC. Boxer's customers will be able to benefit from Atempo's data protection and digital archiving software solutions, specifically designed to easily integrate into digital workflows and protect and archive growing data volumes.

Based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, Boxer serves an impressive list of customers including BBC, BSkyB, Thomson Reuters, Channel 4, ITV and ITN.

Mike Heaney, managing director at Boxer, said: "There is a growing need among our larger customers for a robust, richly-featured and fully-integrated data protection and digital content archiving platform that supports complex and expanding data-intensive workflow processes.  After evaluating the Atempo platform extensively, we were impressed with how it suited many of our customers' cross-platform environments where the protection of high-value digital assets is a business imperative."

Stephane Kirchacker, managing director, Northern Europe and Business Development for Atempo UK, said: "With over 20 years experience serving the needs of the broadcast and post-production arena, Boxer understands the requirements of its customers better than most. Partnering with such an established reseller will allow Atempo to build significant momentum in this market. It also emphasizes Atempo's commitment to providing best of breed data protection and archiving solutions to its worldwide media customers such as the National Film Board of Canada, Efilm, RTL-TVI, Laboratoires Eclair and new prospective customers."

About Atempo Digital Archive (ADA)
ADA goes beyond preservation and hierarchal storage management (HSM), to play a particularly active role in the day-to-day workflow. Today, more organisations require creative data to be retained at different stages in its lifecycle. Raw data, edited files and final projects need to be stored, as any version may need to be leveraged for future projects.
ADA's critical integration with Final Cut Server and transparency to end-users allows those individuals to easily archive at various steps in the content creation process and pull information into and out of the archives as needed. This integration enables users to transfer fixed-content media assets stored in Final Cut Server into a wide number of long-term storage devices by simply using the native Final Cut Server interface.

About Atempo Time Navigator (ATN)
Atempo Time Navigator ensures that this valuable data is backed up and fully protected. In the event of lost or damaged files, the powerful software allows users to easily recover their project data through the simple Time Navigation restore interface. Both products are fully compatible with Mac, Windows and UNIX environments, and support the widest range of storage media in the industry.

DPA Captures Sound for Netflix Original Film Posted: 21/10/2021
DPA Captures Sound for Netflix Original Film: Oxyg and egrave;ne

When it came time to record the Netflix original French-language film, Oxygène (Oxygen in English), the audio team had quite the challenge in front of them. The premise of the scientific horror film focuses on a scientist, played by French Actress Melanie Laurent, who has lost her memory, awakens, trapped in a medical pod and must find her way out before the oxygen levels diminish. Given the setting, the pod is used for 90 percent of the film and, with its tight quarters, Production Sound Mixer Ken Yasumoto and Boom Operator Josselin Panchout knew they needed a reliable and unobtrusive microphone solution, which they found in DPA Microphones.
