The award-winning VideoBRIDGE series provides an advanced industrial platform for converging TV services employing stream-based IP packets. Compatible with all major stream-based industrial standards such as MPEG-2, H.264/AVC, and ETSI TR 101 290, the VideoBRIDGE series offers a complete end-to-end system for the continuous quality assurance of a network containing streaming media services.

A privately held company with headquarters in Oslo, Norway, Bridge Technologies has worldwide sales and marketing operations through business partners in the European, U.S., and Asian markets. Bridge Technologies was founded and is led by a team of experts from the broadcast, telecommunications, and media industries.

New Products for BroadcastAsia2011

VB330 -- The Industry's Most Powerful Media Monitoring Probe
Bridge Technologies will show the industry's most powerful monitoring and analysis probe to date, the VB330. Based on Bridge Technologies entirely new 10GB architecture, the VB330 will offer the highest performance to form-factor ratio available in the monitoring and analysis sector. With three blades fitting in a single 1RU chassis and each VB330 probe having two 10GB interfaces, the system can deliver a massive 60GB monitoring capability. Designed for extremely high-density applications at points of maximum data throughput in today's 10GB core networks, the VB330's enormous capacity offers telcos, network operators, and digital media organizations a monitoring solution with the potential for scaling to match almost any level of throughput.

Other Products on Display at BroadcastAsia2011

VB12-RF -- Ruggedized, Portable Broadcast-IP Probe for Cable and Terrestrial Diagnostics
The new VB12-RF is the most portable comprehensive monitoring/measurement appliance available. Designed for real-world use by engineers on the road, the VB12-RF packs every required broadcast and IP interface into a ruggedized chassis smaller than a laptop computer. The product is smaller, lighter, and tougher than any alternative, with the widest range of built-in interfaces for RF, ASI, and IP, full TR 101 290 alarming and analysis, and support for all media transportation codecs. The VB12-RF is far more practical, complete, and robust than traditionally larger, heavier, and more fragile PC-based alternatives.

VB262 -- DUAL QAM/VSB Input Option With Built-in Spectrum Analytics
The VB262 DUAL QAM/VSB input option card is the solution for complete monitoring in DVB-C or hybrid DVB-C/IP networks, now with added built-in spectrum analytics capability for advanced RF analysis. Up to four independent RF inputs can be analyzed in one 1RU chassis. A very cost-effective multipurpose analysis tool, the VB262 provides a powerful real-time QAM/VSB monitoring and alarm solution ideal for RF, cable, terrestrial, and PBS operators in the U.S. In combination with the VB220 or VB120 controllers, the VB262 is perfect for hybrid networks where IP is used as a carrier from the head-end to the regional edge-multiplexer/modulator/transmitter. The built-in round-robin functionality allows sequential analysis of multiple QAM or VSB multiplexes, making it possible to monitor the total broadcast contents of a cable transmission system using a single VB262. One or two VB262 modules can be specified in a single probe, allowing high-density monitoring of up to 260 MPTS/SPTS multicasts in addition to the RF inputs.

microVB(TM) With Analytics
The microVB(TM) is a breakthrough in miniaturized remote monitoring and analysis for digital media applications. Now with advanced autoconfiguration for plug-and-play setup and an enhanced user interface, microVB adds the final link in the VideoBRIDGE monitoring system chain to provide in-depth packet analysis for any media service including OTT technologies from every major vendor, giving operators completely integrated end-to-end monitoring from satellite to set-top box (STB). Robust and small enough to be delivered to the customer by mail, and with simple, plug-and-play installation, microVB is the first cost-effective and technically viable solution for gathering continuous real-time data about performance at the viewers' STB. Upon installation between the STB and television, microVB automatically locates a server on the operator's VideoBRIDGE network and begins sending data, enabling deep packet inspection without requiring a technician to visit the customer's home to install the device or diagnose problems.

VideoBRIDGE 4.7 Software
The new 4.7 software release adds new and exciting enhancements and upgrades for the complete VideoBRIDGE range of products. At BroadcastAsia2011, highlights and previews of upcoming versions of the system will be demonstrated including powerful SQL database features, advanced graphic displays, and more.

EC Chassis -- Increased Resilience for VideoBRIDGE Probes
Bridge Technologies is introducing a new enhanced chassis (EC) for VideoBRIDGE probes, further increasing ruggedness and resilience for remote operation in extreme conditions. The new chassis features redundant power supplies, front-to-back airflow, six CPU-controlled high-speed fans, and high-grade cast alloy metalwork. The new chassis has been designed for NEBS-compliance, and has also been engineered to accept future generations of high-power cards.

"Asia is one of the most dynamic regions for the digital media industry, and as the leading-edge monitoring and analysis system provider, Bridge Technologies is a must-see for digital media operators at BroadcastAsia2011," said Simen Frostad, chairman of Bridge Technologies. "The VideoBRIDGE system is the most sophisticated and powerful monitoring environment on the market, and with the arrival of the new 10GB VB330 probe we are setting a new industry benchmark for heavy-duty performance in the highest traffic situations."

Cobalt Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor Posted: 12/10/2021
Cobalt and reg; Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear and reg; 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor

Cobalt® Digital, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, has answered the need for handling and processing multiple video feeds with its 9905-MPx multi-channel processor. The 9905-MPx is a next-generation advanced scaler/frame openGear synchronizer developed in direct response to customer needs for a single module that supports four independent signal paths. The card was highlighted during a press briefing held virtually on October 6th and hosted by Suzana Brady, Cobalt’s SVP Worldwide Sales & Marketing, who noted that the 9905-MPx was developed in response to customer requests for increased density, unprecedented multi-input support, and enhanced flexibility. The event also featured presentations by Dr. Ciro Noronha, EVP of Engineering, and Ryan Wallenberg, VP of Engineering. The 9905-MPx, an audio/video processor for baseband digital signals, is capable of handling up to four independent 3G signals in a single, dense, cost-effective package that provides all common broadcast processing functions without any quality compromises. The card includes individual up/down/cross conversion scalers that are specifically designed for broadcast video formats, with full ARC control suitable for conversions to/from 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The multi-path design offers discrete AES and MADI audio embedding/routing/mixing/de-embedding to any of the four processing paths. Standard 3D LUT features and available color correction accommodate SDR and HDR processing for downstream HDR systems, on a per-channel basis. The card also supports per-channel logo insertion, as well as ancillary data insertion/extraction.
