CINEDECK SHOWCASES GROUNDBREAKING NEW FEATURES FOR CINEDECK RX3G AND MX RECORDERS AT NAB 2013

With these new capabilities, available in forthcoming software upgrades, Cinedeck will significantly expand the toolsets of its flagship recording systems for on-set and post-production professionals working in digital cinema, episodic broadcast and live event production.
Extended Camera and Format support:
Cinedeck RX3G and MX will support the capture and realtime playback of ARRIRAW. Forthcoming upgrades will also support JPEG 2000, now the standard for DCI-compliant cinema packages,
Cinedeck will show the import and application of non-destructive, viewing LUTs (Look-Up Tables) to recorded content, via the on-board displays on the RX3G and MX, as well as to output monitors. This capability is especially useful when a production is shooting RAW unprocessed images.

ACES Color workflow:
Cinedeck will be supporting the IIF/ACES workflow, developed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Science and Technology Council to establish a standard format to maintain color accuracy for digital production and post.

Enhanced RS422 Deck Control

Cinedeck will also preview a range of further enhancements, set to ship later in 2013.

Cinedeck will also release new control applications. Currently, Cinedeck recorders have a TCP/IP based, multi-machine control interface for the Windows platform, which manages control and settings for up to 24 Cinedeck channels. Coming soon will be an updated multi-machine interface for PC, Mac as well as iOS and Android mobile devices.

Founded by cinematographers, and headquartered in the heart of New York City, USA, Cinedeck manufactures innovative, touchscreen recording systems for use with all popular digital cinematography cameras. Along with on-set monitoring, playback and quality control capabilities, these recorders also unify camera-to-post workflows by offering the industrys most comprehensive range of edit-ready output formats. Cinedeck EX, the industrys first camera-mountable device, has proven essential to the workflow on hundreds of TV and cinema productions, and has won TV Technologys 2010 STAR Award, the 2010 Vidy Award, and DV Magazines Award of Excellence. Continuing this pioneering spirit, Cinedeck LLC has addressed the challenges of the mobile OB broadcaster with its Cinedeck RX rack-mounted, multi-format recorder, monitor and playback system. Cinedeck RX was awarded the prestigious 2011 Pick Hit Award at IBC 2011 from Broadcast Engineering Magazine. The new Cinedeck MX builds on the companys proven technology platform to offer fully-tapeless workflow for broadcast and cinema entertainment production and post. Cobalt Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor Posted: 12/10/2021
Cobalt and reg; Digital Targets Need for Multiple Video Feeds with openGear and reg; 9905 MPx Multi-Channel Processor

Cobalt® Digital, an industry-leading designer and manufacturer of award-winning edge devices for live video production and master control, and a founding partner in the openGear® initiative, has answered the need for handling and processing multiple video feeds with its 9905-MPx multi-channel processor. The 9905-MPx is a next-generation advanced scaler/frame openGear synchronizer developed in direct response to customer needs for a single module that supports four independent signal paths. The card was highlighted during a press briefing held virtually on October 6th and hosted by Suzana Brady, Cobalt’s SVP Worldwide Sales & Marketing, who noted that the 9905-MPx was developed in response to customer requests for increased density, unprecedented multi-input support, and enhanced flexibility. The event also featured presentations by Dr. Ciro Noronha, EVP of Engineering, and Ryan Wallenberg, VP of Engineering. The 9905-MPx, an audio/video processor for baseband digital signals, is capable of handling up to four independent 3G signals in a single, dense, cost-effective package that provides all common broadcast processing functions without any quality compromises. The card includes individual up/down/cross conversion scalers that are specifically designed for broadcast video formats, with full ARC control suitable for conversions to/from 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios. The multi-path design offers discrete AES and MADI audio embedding/routing/mixing/de-embedding to any of the four processing paths. Standard 3D LUT features and available color correction accommodate SDR and HDR processing for downstream HDR systems, on a per-channel basis. The card also supports per-channel logo insertion, as well as ancillary data insertion/extraction.
