At IBC 2012 DataDirect Networks (DDN), the leader in massively scalable storage, will demonstrate workflow solutions that resolve key challenges facing the Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector.
The potentially vast benefits of cloud storage for M&E have been widely discussed, but issues of security, speed, cost and integration have presented obstacles. DDN will present demonstrations of the latest version of WOS (Web Object Scaler) that solves these problems by offering connectivity options for private, secure cloud storage that operates at LAN speeds; this connectivity also enables cloud storage to be integrated far more easily into media workflows.
DDN will also present the ultimate in creative suite collaboration at IBC 2012. The idea of combining editing suites in a shared workflow has been attempted before, but none of the implementations have provided the ease, efficiency or protection required to make them viable or efficient. DDNs Unified Workflow Solution combines DDNs storage platforms and FilmPartners MXFserver media server to provide simultaneous shared access from Adobe® Avid®, and Apple® NLE suites, with all of the professional services, licensing, installation and optimization required to integrate tightly into a seamless workflow.
In addition, DDN will demonstrate how drives in its storage system can fail, rebuild and restore without ever dropping a frame, degrading performance, or rebuilding complete drives. DDNs storage system is capable of frame-accurate guaranteed quality-of-service, enabling broadcasters, filmmakers, post-production facilities and video-on-demand providers to obtain consistently predictable performance, regardless of the size of content files or the number of concurrent data streams.
Pascal Barbolosi, Vice President, EMEA, DataDirect Networks, said, Our products and solutions are geared to the needs of content creators who need to manage and store their data in a secure, cost-effective and scaleable way that meets both current and future requirements. Were looking forward to meeting existing and new customers at IBC 2012 to discuss optimized media workflows and secure, efficient cloud collaboration.
DDN will also have a caf© on its Stand 7.C30 offering refreshments throughout each day.
