DOREMI CINEMA SHIPMENTS PASS 20,000 UNITS, OPENS SECOND FACTORY

Date: 20/12/2010
dcp-2k4 Doremi Cinema, the leading provider of digital cinema server technology, announces its shipment of over 800 servers and Integrated Media Blocks (IMBs) in December, taking the total units shipped worldwide to over 20,000. This accomplishment highlights the company’s global presence and its position as the world’s leading provider of Digital Cinema server solutions.

The opening of a second factory in Burbank, California more than doubles production capacity to over 2,000 servers per month which include the DCP-2000 and DCP-2K4 digital cinema servers as well as Doremi’s IMB and ShowVault – cinema storage and show control. This expansion is in line with the much-anticipated growth in the global digital cinema market over the next few years, with expectations of an annual market of 25,000-35,000 screens. The growth in production provides increased efficiencies to build greater inventory levels and to continue to offer Doremi’s customers minimal lead times.

Doremi’s active involvement in all open Virtual Print Fee (VPF) deployments confirms the company’s ability to continue offering the most resourceful solutions to the industry, on a global scale. Doremi servers are installed in 13 of the top 15 largest cinema circuits around the globe, validating the company’s reputable position as the world’s preferred and most reliable cinema server manufacturer. This status has been the catalyst that fuelled the company’s expansion throughout five continents as independent and regional theatre owners joined the major exhibitors in deploying Doremi servers and IMBs.

Doremi’s IMB and ShowVault have been successfully deployed throughout the year in North America with Cinemark Theatres and other cinema chains. The technology has also been installed in Europe, Australia and China.

“Our production team really outperformed themselves throughout the year” comments Michael Archer, VP of Doremi Cinema. “Its ability to supply our sales team with over 900 units a month allowed our customers to depend on minimal lead times during the critical installation times through the summer and the current holiday period. It’s quite an achievement for our entire organization to have produced and shipped this vast quantity of product.”
