DejaSoft confirms IABM and nbsp;membership to further strengthen global industry presence of film tool DejaEdit

Software development firm DejaSoft announces its membership of IABM, the international trade association for broadcast and media technology suppliers. IABM is highly regarded for providing its partners with a credible platform and wide range of services and support from which to thrive and expand.

DejaSoft is the creator of the innovative DejaEdit collaboration tool for Avid and EditShare systems. DejaEdit securely synchronises files, bins and timelines between multiple edit installations across the internet. Other features include automatic synchronisation of bins and media and daily backups of a whole AVID Media Composer project and much more.

It allows multiple editors to work together on projects regardless of location. It also facilitates the efficient transfer of media data between editors and on-set “dailies” stations or VFX houses.

DejaSoft is a collaboration between CEO Clas Hakeröd and CTO Nikolai Waldman, both established editors and post-production professionals who also founded boutique post facility CAN Film, based in Sweden. DejaEdit was created to satisfy needs that were identified by their post-production projects and it is already well-established in Scandinavia, being used on many film and television projects.

CEO of DejaSoft Clas Hakeröd states, "As Avid editors ourselves, we fully understand that post-production professionals need to deliver results in a demanding environment. We have worked extremely hard to achieve the status DejaEdit enjoys in our region already, as a robust and reliable solution. We want editors everywhere to also fully enjoy its benefits across the globe. Partnering with IABM at this stage in our growth is a positive step, and it is great to have their support and recognition about the contribution innovations such as DejaEdit bring to the industry."

Nikolai Waldman, DejaSoft’s CTO says, “As a team that fully embraces collaboration, we were drawn to joining IABM as we appreciate the strength gained from working together and gaining new insights. It is important to be part of a group of professionals who are also looking ahead, and our IABM membership is confirmation that DejaSoft is firmly evolving into a significant player in the Media and Entertainment technology arena. We have already hit the ground running from the start of this new year following the successful global launch of DejaEdit in January, and this is just the start of an exciting decade ahead for DejaSoft.”

Lisa Collins, Head of Membership Engagement at IABM, said, “We welcome DejaSoft to IABM Start-Up membership, which is designed to support just such innovative new companies at a critical time in their growth and development for what are typically cash-poor, ideas-rich businesses. I’m certain that the comprehensive package of services support that come with Start-Up membership will prove immensely useful to DejaSoft as it plans and executes the next stage of its development.”

The DejaSoft team will present DejaEdit for the first time at NAB 2020 including a sneak preview into upcoming Version 3.0 due for release in late spring. Highlights of DejaEdit Version 3.0 include “Private” and “Global” bin sharing and many other helpful features that facilitate media file transfer across large media projects.
