Hayslett Takes Sachtler Ace M on Tour with MUSE Posted: 15/11/2013
For alternative rock band MUSEs 2nd Law World Tour, cinematographer Matt Hayslett needed to choose his equipment carefully in order to keep up with fast-paced life on the road. The Grammy-winning group, which has played for packed houses in its native England and throughout Europe, is currently touring North America. Some of MUSEs most recent hits include Survival, the theme song for the London Summer Games, and Madness, the theme song for TBS/TNTs March Madness, for which the group broke the record for Billboards longest #1 alternative airplay song. For its latest endeavor, MUSE selected Hayslett to film a documentary about life on tour. The band really wanted to invite fans behind the scenes for the first time, at the height of their career, Hayslett explains. Since Id shot the trailer and video material for their album release, with the blessing of Warner Bros. Records, they brought me in to do just that. For the world tour, I needed a tripod that could support a wide range of camera rigs and be able to keep up with our busy schedule. The Sachtler Ace M fluid head and tripod fit the bill, he says. Sachtler is part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company. In addition to capturing the behind-the-scenes footage, Hayslett shot the live visuals that the audience watches at the show. There is nothing like seeing your videos on the big screen with an amazing performance and incredible lighting, he comments.

Its a tradition: for over 64 years, the ski season has begun in the theaters every year with a new action documentary by Warren Miller Entertainment. The promotional films tour the world, whetting the appetites of ski and snowboarding fans alike and encouraging them to partake in winter sports. For some years now, cinematographer and director Tom Day has been responsible for the creative realization of the films. While Day does not know where the assignment will take him prior to filming, he already has his equipment ready to go beforehand; during filming in the snow worldwide, he always relies on the Sachtler Cine 7+7 HD and FSB 8 fluid heads. Sachtler is part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company.

Bill Fenster chooses the Sachtler Ace M for political documentary Posted: 30/10/2013
Documentarian Bill Fenster based in Phoenix, Arizona has relied on Sachtler fluid heads and tripods throughout his career. Sachtler is part of Vitec Videocom, a Vitec Group company. Therefore, when he first put a Sachtler Ace M to work in the summer of 2013, he was more than familiar with Sachtlers signature operational feel that the new, small tripod system would have to live up to. It was quite a challenge, keeping the quality of Sachtler with the much miniaturized size, he said. You wouldnt believe this thing it has Sachtlers immaculate movement, as all Sachtler tripods do. But this thing, you can practically put it in your back pocket.
