Eyeheight at InterBEE2009

Date: 19/11/2009
Eyeheight at InterBEE2009 Eyeheight's CW-2M logo/ticker generator and LE-2n range of compact video legalisers make their Asia-market debut at InterBEE2009, Makuhari Messe, Tokyo, November 18-20. Eyeheight will be represented by MTC Japan, exhibiting on booth 5112.
ASIAN MARKET LAUNCH: Eyeheight CW-2M/CW-2S logo and ticker generator

The CW-2M is an HD/SD logo and ticker generator with integral keyer. It allows animated and static graphics plus a line of sideways-crawling text such as breaking news to be added to any part of a television image. An integral dual-channel logo inserter can be used to impose a background image or strap over live video. Text can then be inserted into the strap together with a separate logo. A crosspoint keyer within the CW-2M allows sources to be assigned to any of four layers. Individual and mixed fonts may be loaded into the CW-2M while on-air. Fully compatible with 1080i/1080p/720p HD or 575i/480i SD, the CW-2M works with SD-SDI and HD-SDI sources. An identical SD-HDI only version, the CW-2S, is also available.

The CW-2K option adds fill and key inputs to either model for use with an external character generator which can be assigned to any layer.

Eyeheight's netCrawler software, included with the CW-2M and CW-2S, can be used to configure fonts and colour settings and to preview the ticker text. Dynamic text elements (ticker, time and date) can be positioned relative to the strap graphic. A simple serial protocol allows easy interfacing to dynamic content. netCrawler also allows multiple CW-2M generators to be managed via internet protocol. Up to three CW-2M or CW-2S modules can be housed in a 1 U (442 x 44 x 450 mm WHD) FB-9E etherBox with optional FP-9 local control panel, FP-10 desk-mounting control panel and PS-9E auxiliary power supply.

ASIAN MARKET LAUNCH: Eyeheight LE-2nM/LE-2NU/LE-2nS compact legaliser

Eyeheight's LE-2nM is a fully-featured single-card SD/HD-SDI legaliser housed in a rackmountable or free-standing third-rack-width 1 U high nanoBox chassis with external mains power supply. It can correct to match all common legalisation standards. Incoming signals are legalised in user-selectable RGB, YUV, composite (PAL/NTSC) or combined RGB and composite. Eyeheight's clobberRing luma overshoot/undershoot suppression is provided as well as luma and chroma gain, black level and hue rotation, adjustable clipping level and soft-clipping knee level. Two outputs are included plus an Indicate output which shows which parts of the picture are being legalised. A unique severity display mode is available on the monitoring output. EBU-R 2003 standard SDI legalisation settings and 7.5 IRE or 0 IRE Pedestal are incorporated together with six user memories and common presets. The user memories can be accessed via two GPI inputs. The LE-2nM uses full 10 bit processing throughout and can be controlled by an optional Java soft panel (PC and Mac compatible) or 1 U Eyeheight FP-9 Flexi-Panel. Like all Eyeheight multi-definition products, the LE-2nM is compatible with the 18 video standards currently in use across 525/625 SD and 720p, 1080i/1080p HD.

Model LE-2nU has essentially the same features plus the capability of 1080p dual link operation. Model LE-2nS is a standard-definition version.

A globally-active innovator in broadcast-quality video and audio engineering, Eyeheight designs and manufactures a wide range of SDI/HD-SDI equipment for use in programme-origination, quality assurance, post-production, master-control and associated areas. These include aspect-ratio converters, colour correctors, embedded-audio shufflers, keyers, legalisers, logo inserters, master control switchers, monitoring interfaces, safe-area generators and vision mixers. Eyeheight products centre on a modular platform with Ethernet control and monitoring for easy connection to other devices and to external automation.
