Pebble results point to post-Covid growth

Pebble, the leading automation, content management, and integrated channel specialist, has announced a strong set of financials for the year end 2020 and an encouraging uptake in orders for Q1 2021.

While revenues understandably took a hit, down 25% over 2019, Q1 orders are up 86% on the same period the previous year. Meanwhile, net profit, cash generation, revenue from support contracts, and gross margin all remained strong during 2020. This allowed the company to continue to pursue the successful R&D strategy that saw it launch its new digital platform Oceans, as well as to invest in the industry expertise required to deliver it, and continue to support its extensive global user base. It was also able to reduce its long-term bank debt by a further £1m.

Quantel announces record results for 2010 Posted: 06/10/2010
Quantel announces record results for 2010 Quantel today announced its provisional results for the 2009/10 financial year, which ended on 30th September. Orders were up 34% compared with 2008/9 (itself a record year for Quantel), and Profit (EBIT) up 125% to £9 million.

"We're delighted with these results," said Ray Cross, Quantel CEO.They have been achieved in the face of challenging market conditions which have seen many other companies in our sector struggling. On the very last day of the financial year, we took £10 million in new orders from existing customers which will feed straight into next year's figures.

"Quantel is a long-standing player in the global media business and our focus is very much on helping to create success and wealth for our customers, which in turn brings success to Quantel," Cross explained. "We have invested heavily in R&D over the last 10 years, and continued to do so right through the economic cycle. Our objective is simple - we provide our customers with creative tools that enable them to tell their stories in more interesting, creative and entertaining ways. That's why we are leaders in HD News and Sports and in the Stereo3D revolution that is currently taking place across post and broadcast.

"The latest fruit of this investment in innovation is QTube. For the first time, truly global workflows are within reach of the media industry. QTube is another great example of Quantel's ingenuity, the next chapter in a story that began 10 years ago with our MBO. The story will continue to unfold with more great ideas to help drive our customers' success," Cross concluded.

New Radio Studio for Financial Times Features Munros Acoustics Posted: 20/10/2009
New Radio Studio for Financial Times Features Munros Acoustics Leading Acoustic design company Munro Acoustics was contracted recently to construct a brand new radio broadcast studio for one of the world's leading business media organisations, The Financial Times. Providing extensive news, comment and analysis, the newspaper has a readership of more than 1.3 million people worldwide but is also involved on both podcasting, web based video and audio at its internet presence FT.com and Ftfm. The company also provides expert financial comment for the BBC and other radio stations around the world.

FT.COM's Richard Edgar explained: Munro Acoustics was brought in to handle the acoustic design and, in spite of heavy nearby traffic noise, managed to achieve a really excellent result in an old building which was never designed with acoustics in mind.

Munro Acoustics was engaged by installation specialists VSC Design to help engineer the studio from the acoustic viewpoint, taking into account the existing problems and sound leakage from adjacent floors of the building.
