Lots of light despite little space Posted: 13/07/2010
The French TV broadcasting network has equipped its studio in Bordeaux with eleven Litepanels 1x1 flood lighting fixtures by the supplier „K5600 Lighting" from Bouafle, France. DoP (Director of Photography) Didier Gorbaty of "Des Racines & Des Ailes" and other programs, works as technical consultant for France Tlvision in Bordeaux and is enthusiastic: "We decided on the Litepanels 1x1 LED lighting fixtures, as the studio is very small. We faced the challenge that there is very little space between the studio decor and the journalists. Being extremely flat, the fixtures are well suited to our studio. The speakers' faces are perfectly illuminated and yet the decor is only faintly lit up." Another reason why he decided on the Litepanels lights is the color temperature. "There are a lot of plasma displays with a color temperature of 5600°K. Therefore, it is an added advantage to have Litepanels lights working at the same temperature. As TV news is produced in the studio, it is important that the faces be lit softly in a clear light, without any noticeable effects. The 1x1 fixtures are perfectly suited to this purpose."

1x1 LEDs: most versatile and energy-efficient
The flat Litepanels 1x1 lighting fixtures are versatile and can be combined with different frames into 2x2 or 4x4 configurations. The LED lights barely produce any heat, enabling the studio to save on air conditioning. As the lights require very little power and therefore save on energy, they are particularly efficient, and thus environmental-friendly. The 1x1 lighting fixtures are available in 3200°K and 5600°K and have a dimmer enabling instant dimming from 100 percent to 0 with minimal shift in color, remaining completely flicker-free.
